Microendoscopic Lumbar Discectomy: A Study of 100 Cases
Lumbar Disc HerniationEvaluate the outcome of micro endoscopic discectomy (MED) by tubular retractors on safety and efficacy of the technique.
An Effect and Safety Observation on PELD Technique for Extraforaminal Disc Herniation at L5/S1
NeuralgiaSciatic43% or so of far lateral lumbar disc herniation (FLLDH) occurred at L5/S1, however, the surgical treatment is still quite challenging. We conducted a modified PELD technique that enable us to remove the extraforaminal herniated disc at L5/S1, through the anatomical space surrounded by transverse process, facet joint and sacrum (TFS space). This study is to this technique's effect and safety in a one year follow-up.
Correlation of Cervical Lordosis Degree Detected on Cervical X-Ray Image With Clinical, Demographic...
Neck PainCervical Lordosis2 moreIn this study we are investigating whether there is a relationship between the lordosis angle measured on cervical X-RAY images on the severity and level of cervical disc herniation detected by cervical MRI, demographic characteristics and the duration and posture of the person's daily life activities.
Intra-operatory Neurophysiological Monitoring Changes as a Predictive Clinical Outcome Measure in...
Lumbar Disc DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to determine the relation among: (1) changes in voltage and amplitude of trans-operatory records obtained through the use of Intra-operative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM), and (2) clinical outcomes; of patients who underwent 1 or 2 levels surgical decompression at lumbar spine. IONM is the use of real time neurophysiological techniques during spinal surgeries. The modalities included in this study are: Somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs). Trans-cranial electric motor evoked potentials (tceMEPs). Spontaneous electromyography (EMG). Clinical outcome of the patients will be assessed through a careful evaluation of clinical data, as well as the application of three outcome scales: Oswestry Disability Index 2.1a Visual Analogue Scale for Pain Patient's Overall Impression of Change
The European Robotic Spinal Instrumentation (EUROSPIN) Study
Degenerative Disc DiseaseSpondylolisthesis5 moreIn a multinational prospective study, preoperative, intraoperative, perioperative and follow-up data on patients receiving thoracolumbar pedicle screw placement for degenerative disease or infections or tumors will be collected. The three arms consist of robot-guided (RG), navigated (NV), or freehand (FH) screw insertion.
Incidence of Large Annular Defects in Primary Lumbar Discectomy Patients
Lumbar Disc HerniationAnular Tear of Lumbar Disc1 moreLumbar discectomy study, collection and evaluation of incidence of large annular defects.
Surgical Treatment Comparison for Recurrent Lumbar Disc Herniation
Low Back PainRecurrent Lumbar Disc HerniationThe purpose of this study is to compare patients who underwent decompression/discectomy with pedicle screw fusion to patients who received decompression/discectomy without fusion.
RELATIONSHIP OF LUMBOPELVIC MUSCULATURE WITH FUNCTIONAL TESTS IN NON-PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES WITH...
Low Back PainHerniated Lumbar Disk1 moreThis is a control-case study. It has been designed to determine if there is a relationship between the cross sectional (thickness), through RUSI ultrasound, of the abdominal muscles, lumbar and hip muscles with the results of the functional tests, to determine its relevance in patients with low back pain and / or ciatalgia and lumbar disc herniation in non-professional athletes. The secondary objectives of the study will be to know if there is a relationship between the results of ultrasound measurements and functional tests with the result of the disability questionnaires, the amount of pain and its location, as well as determine the relevance, depending on the results of ultrasound measurements and test of the presence or not of a lumbar disc herniation.
EMG Finding According to the Type of Lumbar Disc Herniation
Intervertebral Disc DisplacementElectromyographyDisc herniation is a common cause of low back pain and leg pain. Electromyography is the only test that can objectively examine nerve damage caused by a lumbar disc herniation. This study aimed to compare the MRI findings of disc herniation and the aspects of electromyography.
A Pilot Study of the InterCushion Disc Nucleus Prosthesis (DNP) in Patients Receiving Discectomy...
DiskHerniatedThe primary endpoints of the investigation will include assessment of the maintenance of disc height demonstrated by radiographic evidence based on plain radiographs and MRI and relief of pain as measured by Visual Analog Scale (VAS) at six months post-surgery. It is anticipated that outcomes with the InterCushion Disc Nucleus Prosthesis (DNP) will be comparable to or better than the historical published results for discectomy alone.
