Neurosarcoidosis : Initial Presentation and Disease Course
NeurosarcoidosisNeurosarcoidosis represents up to 10% of sarcoidosis cases. Little is known about its long-term course, even if the disease remains mainly monophasic with/w.o. sequelae, or if bouts of new symptoms may arise over years (polyphasic). Using retrospective data from patients diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis in three French referral centers for neuro-inflammation, the investigators aim to determine patterns of disease course, according to the initial presentation and the treatments used.
Association Between Rosiglitazone Use and Clinical Course of Diabetic Nephropathy: Population-Based...
DiabetesDiabetic Nephropathy1 moreRecent data show that Rosiglitazone treatment can reduce proteinuria in diabetic patients. However, currently there are no trials that examine the effects of Rosiglitazone on kidney disease progression, that is, doubling of serum creatinine or time to onset of end-stage renal disease, in patients with diabetic nephropathy. We decided to study retrospectively the possible association between rosiglitazone use and clinical course of diabetic nephropathy, including rate of deterioration of renal function, appearance and progression of microalbuminuria/proteinuria, survival and acceptance to renal replacement therapy.
Factors Related to the Progression of Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Kidney DiseaseChronic kidney disease is a progressive disorder that has been influenced with many factors. Most of the patients has altered Ca P metabolism and these dis orders are the contributing factors of the disease progression. It has been recently documented that FGF23 and Klotho are the key factors of PTH secretion Ca-P metabolism. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of Klotho and FGF23 on the progression of stage 3-4 chronic kidney disease.
Clinical Course of Korean Crohn's Disease Cohort
Crohn's DiseaseIn the past decade, the incidence and prevalence of CD (Crohn's disease) has continued to increase in Korea. Previous studies have indicated that Asian IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) patients differ from those of Western patients with regard to the genetic susceptibility and some clinical features. However, the available published data from retrospective studies in Korea were largely incomplete. The investigators aim of the study is a set-up of Korean cohort for CD, and thereby to assess the clinical course of Korean CD patients through a prospective multicenter long-term follow-up study. Secondary aims of this study are as follows: (1) to evaluate the efficacy, tolerability, and predictors to response to anti-TNF therapy for CD, (2) to identify the risk factors for postoperative recurrence on the basis of information obtained at initial diagnosis, and (3) to evaluate genotype-phenotype correlation.
Influence of Minimally Invasive Thymectomy on the Subsequent Clinical Course of Myasthenia Gravis...
Myasthenia GravisThe aim of this study is to investigate whether minimally invasive thymectomy achieves comparable efficacy and safety results compared to open thymectomy in patients with myasthenia gravis. The planned investigation is a multicenter observational study based on retrospective (present patient data) and prospective data (questionable outcome data). Primary hypothesis: Minimally invasive thymectomy is not inferior to open thymectomy in terms of efficacy and safety (non-inferiority study).
A Study to Prospectively Assess Disease Progression in Male Children With X-ALD
X-Linked AdrenoleukodystrophyThis is a non-interventional, multi-center study that follows general principles of periodic assessment of X-ALD patients in routine practice. No study drug treatment will be given and no changes to patient treatment are necessary.
Liver Disease and Other Systemic Diseases
Liver DiseasesHumans8 moreExamine the association of chronic liver diseases (including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, alcoholic liver disease, fatty liver, liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma) with other systemic diseases by retrospectively analyzing the data from the Hospital Database of Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation.
A New Prognostic Model for Predicting the Outcome of Patients With Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer...
OncologyBladder Cancer4 moreA prospective observational study to re-establish a new prognostic model for predicting the outcome in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) using the current recommendation regimen for intermediate and high risk groups and including all potential and highly prognostic factors.
To Study and Compare the Clinical Course and Development of Organ Failure in Severe Acute Hepatitis...
CirrhosisThe study will be conducted on patients admitted to Department of Hepatology from MARCH 2015 to DECEMBER 2016 at ILBS, New Delhi. All patients presenting to ILBS fulfilling the inclusion criteria will be included in the study and will be categorized and evaluated. The patient will followed over a period of 3 months.
F18 DCFPyL PET/CT in Imaging Participants With Recurrent Prostate Cancer
Prostate AdenocarcinomaPSA Level Greater Than 0.23 moreThis study provides fluorine F 18 DCFPyL positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) to participants with prostate cancer that has come back. Diagnostic procedures, such as fluorine F 18 DCFPyL PET/CT, may help find and diagnose prostate cancer and find out how far the disease has spread.
