The Triglyceride/Glucose Index and SGLT-2 Inhibitors

Metabolic DiseaseDiabetes

This study was designed to evaluate the change in triglyceride glucose index, one of the atherosclerotic markers, in patients with type 2 DM followed in the Internal Medicine Clinic of Samsun University, Samsun Training, and Research Hospital. Methods: The data of the patients who were followed up for at least 3 months by making a retrospective file review will be recorded and analyzed. It is planned to start the study following the ethics committee's approval.

Zhejiang Nutrition and Health Study

Metabolic DiseaseCardiovascular Diseases1 more

This project aims to explore the relationship between healthy lifespan and nutrition through a 10-year longitudinal study in Zhejiang Province. The cohort will include individuals in a wide range of age groups. The demographic, diet, lifestyle information, health status, and corresponding bio-samples will be collected carefully. It will give a deeper insight to the relation between nutrition and healthy aging and longevity. Ultimately, this research will contribute to evidence-based nutrition interventions to improve health outcomes and enhance quality of life.

CBD, Nutrient Metabolism and Energy Intake

Glucose Metabolism Disorders (Including Diabetes Mellitus)Lipid Metabolism Disorders1 more

CBD may affect metabolic control and energy intake. However, there is currently little data regarding these specific outcomes in humans. Therefore, this study will investigate whether a single 300 mg dose of CBD can improve metabolic control following a meal and/or reduce energy intake at a subsequent meal. Healthy, adult volunteers will complete two conditions in a crossover design, comparing outcomes following both CBD and placebo supplementation.

Tongji-Ezhou Study

DiabetesCardiovascular Diseases6 more

Tongji-Ezhou study (TJEZ) is a prospective cohort study launched at 2013 in EZhou city, Hubei province, with the goal of recruiting and assessing 10,000 individuals and then following them for at least 2 decades. In addition, blood samples would be collected every 3-5 years among 6000 of them to investigate the nutritional biomarkers and potential determinants of chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease.

Signature of the Risk Profile of Mortality in a Hospital Cohort of Patients With Metabolic Diseases...

Metabolic Disease

Epidemiological studies are usually conducted in the general population in adults without complications or pathology at baseline. The results obtained are therefore often better designed for primary prevention use. The prediction of mortality risk in patients with complications and requiring hospital follow-up is less well known. The study purpose is to determine a mortality risk profile in a hospital cohort of patients with pathologies associated with metabolic diseases. Today the "multimaker" scores based on a panel of biomarkers - have significantly improved the discriminating power of prediction models existing in many pathologies. It is no longer a single biomarker that can improve risk prediction but a complete and cross-sectional profile that is sought after. We aim to establish a personalised mortality risk profile by combining clinical and biological parameters including metabolomics, genetics, transcriptomics and epigenomics by high throughput screening of biological samples.

Predicting Dysglycemia in Individuals With Gestational Diabetes Immediately Postpartum Using Continuous...

Gestational DiabetesPrediabetes; Complicating Pregnancy5 more

Gestational diabetes is one of the most common medical disorders in pregnancy and is a major risk factor for the postpartum development of dysglycemia. Despite the high risk of developing dysglycemia, 50-80% of women with gestational diabetes are not receiving testing within a year postpartum. The investigators will conduct a prospective cohort study to examine the use of continuous glucose monitoring immediately postpartum to estimate the risk of maternal dysglycemia postpartum.
