Triple Treatment for Detachment of Retinal Pigment Epithelium Secondary to Polypoidal Choroidal...
Choroidal NeovascularizationRetinal Pigment Epithelial DetachmentStudy the effectiveness of the treatment detachment of retinal pigment epithelium secondary to polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy. Efficacy will be assessed by regression of polyp area after twelve months, compared to baseline. Treatment under study is a triple therapy with: 1) reduced-fluence photodynamic therapy (PDT), 2) intravitreal (IVT) triamcinolone and, 3) IVT ranibizumab, for the treatment of detachment of the retinal pigment epithelium (PED) secondary to Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy (PCV).
Prophylactic Intravitreal 5-Fluorouracil and Heparin to Prevent PVR in High-risk Patients With Retinal...
Rhegmatogenous Retinal DetachmentHigh-risk for Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy (PVR)This study investigates the effectiveness of a simple treatment to prevent proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). Intraoperative intravitreal 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) is used as a prophylactic therapy in high-risk patients with primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD). Our major motivation is to reduce the incidence of PVR in the group that receives the trial drug.
Determination of Pre-Absorptive Dissociation of Zinc From a Zinc Amino Acid Complex in Healthy Men...
Fractional Zinc AbsorptionZinc may be absorbed from diet via zinc transporter mediated pathways, or, when coupled with amino acids, via amino acid transporter pathways. When zinc is coupled with amino acids in diet, it may dissociate from those amino acids in the acidic environment of the stomach prior to entering the small intestine. An experimentally-determined value for any pre-absorptive dissociation of zinc from a zinc amino acid complex (ZnAA) is necessary for the accurate compartmental modeling of zinc metabolism when provided as ZnAA compared with ionic zinc, which the investigators will perform in a future study. The current study will allow us to determine the dissociation of zinc from ZnAA, while serving as a pilot test of a novel technique to determine for the first time an individual's zinc transport kinetics.
23 Gauge and 20 Gauge Vitrectomy for Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachments
Retinal DetachmentThis study is a comparison (23 gauge vs 20 gauge instrumentation) of surgical instrumentation for retinal detachment repair.
Assessment of Adverse Events in a Naive Pediatric Population Treated With an Antipsychotic
Dissociative DisordersSchizophreniaWe propose a prospective multicenter study, whose originality lies in the inclusion of the naive child and adolescent population. Its purpose is to evaluate the incidence of adverse events related to the use of l antipsychotic drugs in children and adolescents with no history of taking such drugs. The inclusion criteria will be: (1) male or female inpatients, (2) aged from 6 to 18 years, (3) requiring antipsychotic treatment, (4) receiving antipsychotic drug for less than 28 days without taking antipsychotic before or with a history of antipsychotic over a maximum period of three consecutive months and discontinued for at least 6 months. Therapeutic monitoring during the 12 month study period will include clinical assessments and laboratory testing. These assessments will be performed before treatment (at inclusion), and at 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 months after the introduction of the antipsychotic drug.
Neurophysiological Correlates of Dissociation Induced by Virtual Reality Hypnosis.
Healthy VolunteersHypnosis and virtual reality are potential tools in treating acute pain. Nevertheless, the neurophysiological correlates of such tools used together, i.e. 'virtual reality hypnosis' (VRH) (Patterson et al., 2004) remain mostly understudied. This study aims to improve our knowledge and understanding of the dissociation (i.e., a mental separation of components of behaviours that normally would be processed together) occurring during VRH. This is a randomized controlled study that will be conducted on healthy participants. As the final goal is to propose such a tool in the clinical context, a clinical application will also be carried out subsequently. Thus the principal outcome is to study dissociation in the context of VRH from a behavioral and neurophysiological point of view. Secondary objectives aim at identifying factors that influence the dissociative effect seen in VRH, as well as measuring traits of hypnotisability, absorption, immersive abilities, dissociation trait and state, pain, and anxiety levels that might impact the effectiveness of such a tool.
Prognostic Value of Hemodynamic Disturbances in Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment (CRADO-RED)
Retinal DetachmentRetinal detachments correspond to a separation of the neuroepithelium from the pigment epithelium. They can be exudative (sometimes in conjunction with a tumor), tractional, traumatic (postoperative) or rhegmatogenous (in relation to a tear). Ultrasound, requested when the fundus is difficult to achieve and shows a hyperechoic mobile membrane. It can also measure the hemodynamic parameters of retinal arteries. A preliminary study showed a correlation between systolic velocity in the central retinal artery and postoperative visual acuity. The aim of this study is to confirm those preliminary data.
Intervention Through EMDR and CBT With Women Victim of Childhood Sexual Abuse. A Randomized Controlled...
Posttraumatic Stress DisorderSomatization5 moreThis study evaluates the effectiveness of two types of therapy for the treatment of sexual abuse psychological impact on a sample of Spanish women. The participants will receive first Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatments in order to observe the impact on symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, somatization, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, anxiety, aggressiveness and dissociate symptoms.
A Study of a New Surgical Treatment of Macular Hole Retinal Detachment in High Myopia
Macular HolesRetinal Detachment1 moreThis study evaluates the surgical outcomes of inverted internal limiting membrane insertion combined with air tamponade in the treatment of macular hole retinal detachment (MHRD) in high myopia, and also to compare the treatment efficacy and safety between different surgical approaches of MHRD
Multi-electrocoagulation Retinectomy for Retinal Re-detachment in Silicone Oil Filled Eye
Retinal DetachmentRetinal re-detachment in silicone oil filled eye, especially in the traumatic eye, is a complex retinal detachment with poor prognosis. In this study, the investigators try to apply a modified surgery as Multi-electrocoagulation retinectomy to reattach the retina. Here the investigators aimed to explore the safety and efficacy of this new surgical approach
