Acas series study was conducted on emergency acute abdomen patients who finally confirmed intraoperatively as Meckel's diverticulum with different complications. Simple perforation to isolated axial torsioned gangrene was observed. The patients signed consent for their cases to be published.

The data will assist in further evaluating the performance of the ColonRing™ device in regards to the creation of a colorectal anastomosis. Hypothesis:The performance of the ColonRing™, determined by the rate of complications, will be within the acceptable range reported in the literature for alternative treatment modalities.

Influence of Mechanical Bowel Preparation on GI Microbiota

The mechanical bowel preparation (BP) used to clean the colon prior to colonoscopy frequently results in a significant but temporary reduction in patient's symptoms for a number of bowel disorders including symptomatic uncomplicated diverticular disease. The cause of this improvement is unknown. We hypothesise that changes to the gut microbial population (microbiota) are responsible for this improvement and that the repopulation of the GI tract with bacteria following colonoscopy results in a return of their normal symptoms. This pilot study will test this in a preliminary way by examining the stool, urine and blood of patients before and after bowel preparation to detect any destabilising effect that BP has on the gut microbiota and to what extent the microbiota repopulates at 3 months If the hypothesis is proven, this study will show that BP generates a 'window of opportunity' in which to influence the subsequent re-establishment of the microbiota. This is with the eventual aim of correcting potential dysbiosis and preventing the progression of symptomatic uncomplicated diverticular disease (SUDD).

Cesarean scar diverticula (CSD) is a novel recognized cause of postmenstrual abnormal uterine bleeding in women. No clinical guidelines have been issued for the management of CSD. Currently, several limited surgical management procedures for CSD have been reported, such as hysteroscopic combined with laparoscopic excision (abbreviated as hysteroscope + laparoscope) and vaginal repair of CSD (abbreviated as VR). However, which management can achieve better clinical effects remains unknown. Therefore, this prospective study is designed to compare the therapeutic effects between VR and hysteroscope + laparoscope in the treatment of CSD.

Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery has become an important topic. NOTES access routes give the opportunity to reduce surgical access trauma leading to a more painless surgery and enhancing a fast postoperative recovery. Experience with transvaginal laparoscopic cholecystectomy and transvaginal anterior resection for diverticulitis show that such NOTES procedures are feasible and safe. The complication rate to conventional laparoscopic procedures is similar. Since transvaginal access is impossible in men, an alternative route is missing. There are experimental studies and small case series reporting the feasibility of transrectal anterior resection. However any prospective feasibility study demonstrating the safety of the procedure and functional outcomes (sphincter function) are missing. This study investigates the feasibility, practicability, safety and subjective as well as functional outcome of transrectal hybrid-NOTES anterior resection.

The registry will evaluate efficacy, safety and technical success of the Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)Guided Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures. The safety and efficacy of various EUS-Guided ERCP procedures have been assessed in a series of studies. This multi-center registry has been initiated: To document the impact of EUS-Guided ERCP procedures on the management of pancreatico-biliary disorders including malignancies. To assess the clinical and technical success rates of EUS-Guided ERCPs for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Design is retrospective and prospective registry study.
