Manual Ankle Rocking Training on Postural Control and Foot Function in Children With Down Syndrome...
Down S SyndromeDown syndrome occurs due to abnormal cell division of extra chromosome 21. It is a genetic disorder that causes postural un stability, leads to poor foot function and causes them difficulty that they can't fulfill their daily life activities and can't be independent. Strengthening exercise of lower limb and core strengthening of trunk muscle will provide postural stability and lower limb strengthening. Aim of this research is to determine the effects of manual Ankle rocking training on postural control and foot function in children with Down syndrome. Those who are diagnosed with down syndrome and are between age 8-15 and both of the genders are included in this research and those who have any surgical issue, visual impairment and musculoskeletal contractures are not included in the study we will use static standing balance test to check postural control and foot function index for Ankle rocking training from two group in which one will be given the baseline treatment of lower limb exercise and core strengthening with ankle rocking training and the other group without ankle rocking training and then the collected data will be analyzed by SPSS. 22
Treatment of Sleep Disturbances in School-age Children With Down Syndrome
Down SyndromeThe investigators long-term goal is to improve outcomes for children with Down syndrome (DS) and their caregivers. Towards that goal, the investigators propose a randomized clinical trial of a behavioral sleep treatment designed specifically for children with DS, documenting the impact not only on sleep, but also on the child's daytime inhibitory control and behavior problems, and the caregiver's sleep and stress levels. The investigators will randomize 80 families of children with DS ages 6-17 to receive either a 5-session behavioral sleep treatment (BST; targeting sleep education, behavioral principles and visual supports) or a general-education control condition (CON). The BST will cater to the unique needs of children with DS, adapting an intervention that successfully treats behavioral sleep disturbances in children with autism1. Pre- and post-intervention, children will undergo comprehensive assessments of cognitive, behavioral, and adaptive functioning involving direct testing and input from parents and teachers. Child and parent sleep will be monitored via actigraphy and parent-completed sleep diaries, and parents will report on their stress levels and mood.
A 4-Week Safety Study of Oral ELND005 in Young Adults With Down Syndrome Without Dementia
Down SyndromeThis is a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, three-arm, multicenter study of the safety and PK of ELND005 administered orally for 4 weeks. This study will enroll Down Syndrome patients 18 to 45 years of age (inclusive) without dementia.
Treatment Trial of Subclinical Hypothyroidism in Down Syndrome
Down SyndromeSubclinical HypothyroidismThe purpose of this research study is to learn about the effects of treating subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) with thyroid hormone replacement in children and adolescents with Down syndrome (DS). We hypothesize that treatment of SCH with thyroid hormone replacement will improve cardiometabolic health and quality of life.
Intensive Dysarthria Sessions in Adults and Children With Down Syndrome
DysarthriaDown SyndromeThis research study is designed to investigate the feasibility and treatment effects of a behavioral speech treatment in adults and children with Down Syndrome (DS) and dysarthria. The speech sessions will provide an intensive, articulation-based intervention focused on increasing effort during speech production via use of "clear speech." A single subject multiple baselines across subjects design will be employed in a total of six subjects divided into two groups of three. Changes in dependent measures will be determined by visual inspection, effect size determination, and time series analysis. The study follows accepted procedures in rehabilitation treatment and research and there are minimal foreseeable risks associated with participation.
Efficacy of Rivastigmine in Patients With Down Syndrome
Down SyndromeThis study is to understand the efficacy on language and cognitive function in Down syndrome patients who take Rivastigmine.
Egcg, a dyrk1a Inhibitor as Therapeutic Tool for Reversing Cognitive Deficits in Down Syndrome Individuals....
Down SyndromeThere is a mounting evidence of the modulation properties of the major catechin in green tea, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), on dual specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase 1A (DYRK1A) gene overexpression in the brains of DS mouse models. The aims are to investigate the clinical benefits and safety of EGCG administration in young adults with DS, to establish short-term EGCG effects (three months) on neurocognitive performance, and to determine the persistency or reversibility of EGCG related effects after three months of discontinued use.
Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Young Patients With Down Syndrome and Acute Myeloid Leukemia...
Childhood Acute Basophilic LeukemiaChildhood Acute Eosinophilic Leukemia13 moreThis phase III trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy works in treating young patients with Down syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndromes. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more cancer cells.
DIR/ Floortime™ Parent Training Intervention for the Children With Developmental Disabilities
Cerebral PalsyDown's Syndrome1 moreThe objective of this study is to test whether adding the parent training program using the relationship-based approach could help the children with development disabilities (DDs) would confer additional benefits over routine clinical care available to both groups in terms of improving their development and reducing behavior problems.
Eyelash Line Resection for Entropion Associated With Down's Syndrome
Down's SyndromeSurgical outcome of entropion associated with Down's syndrome was evaluated. Grading scale of superficial punctate keratopathy and score of wearing glasses to correct refractive errors were measured.
