Down's syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by trisomy 21. Down's syndrome is most common genetic mental disability that affects children physically, mentally and functionally. It occurs due to an extra copy of chromosome 21. It involves a slightly flattened facial profile, low muscle tone upward-slanted eyes, and ligamentous laxity. Central hypotonia, mental retardation and short stature are very common features of children with down's syndrome. Children with down's syndrome are characterized by awkward movements, gait, increased flexibility of joints, timing of mastering of basic skills and , under-development of fine motor skills. Active video gaming used different games that involve interactive session that can enhance cortical recognition, motor learning and functional profile of children with DS. The objective of this study is to determine the effects of active video gaming on pre-hand writing skills of children with down's syndrome. This will be a RCT(Randomized Controlled Trial).The sample size was 18 and the study design was a case-control trial. The inclusion criteria are children with down syndrome age 6 to 12 years both male and female patients are randomly selected and children with poor pre-hand writing skills. And the exclusion criteria for this study is children with any other neurological condition like (epilepsy, instability of atlantoaxial joints, cardiac anomalies,) vision, and hearing loss. Two groups were randomly assigned and equally divided patients into each group. Group A received pre-handwriting skills, like tracing alphabets and numbers, scribbling, coloring, painting, and group B received active video gaming and prehandwriting skills. For measuring each group developmental coordination disorder questionnaire tool is used. The session will be taken 30 mins thrice a week for (8consecutive weeks). SPSS for Windows software, version 25 will be used to analyze the data using statistical Significance p=0.05. The Shapiro-Wilk test will be used to check the normality of data. Determine the efficacy of family-informed intervention (INT) vs standard clinical care over a period of twelve months in children with obstructive sleep apnea and Down Syndrome.

Down's syndrome (DS) is a genetic condition characterized by the presence of an extra chromosome 21, leading to various clinical symptoms. Individuals with DS often experience challenges in balance, posture, and motor skills, which can impact their daily activities. Pilates activities focus on the concept of control of muscles. Pilates increases trunk flexibility, abdominal and core strength and endurance, and deep core muscle activation hence improving balance and posture.

Children with Down syndrome (DS) have a 3-5 time greater prevalence of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) than typically developing (TD) children. Despite this higher risk of ADHD, rates of stimulant medication treatment are disproportionately low in children with DS+ADHD, even though stimulants are the most efficacious ADHD treatment and are recommended by consensus guidelines for use in children with intellectual disability and ADHD. The investigators propose the first randomized clinical trial (RCT) of stimulant medication in children with DS+ADHD. This RCT may provide evidence regarding the short- and long-term safety and efficacy of stimulant use in children with DS+ADHD, both with and without CHD. All children enrolled in the study will complete a comprehensive assessment battery evaluating ADHD diagnostic criteria, as well as behavioral, cognitive, academic, and functional impairments.

In this study, investigators will study the impact of a 1:1 caregiver coaching intervention using the JASPER (Joint Attention, Symbolic Play, Engagement, Regulation) behavioral therapy curriculum compared to a psychoeducational curriculum that will be provided to caregivers for self-directed learning. Investigators want to determine the impact of both interventions on the child's development and behavior, and caregiver implementation of strategies.

Individuals with Down syndrome (DS) have an increased risk of numerous co-occurring conditions, including the neuropsychiatric condition known as Down Syndrome Regression Disorder (DSRD). A DSRD diagnosis often includes a sub-acute onset of catatonia, mutism, depersonalization, loss of ability to perform activities of daily living, hallucinations, delusions, and aggression and is most commonly observed in adolescents and young adults. The study evaluates the safety and efficacy of three currently prescribed therapies: lorazepam, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and tofacitinib.

This is an experimental study in which randomized controlled trials study design is being used.

Individuals with Down syndrome (DS) live with visual deficits due, in part, to elevated levels of higher-order optical aberrations (HOA). HOAs are distortions/abnormalities in the structure of the refractive components of the eye (i.e. the cornea and the lens) that, if present, can result in poor quality focus on the retina, thus negatively impacting vision. HOAs in the general population are overall low, and thus not ordinarily considered during the eye examination and determination of refractive correction. However, for some populations, such as individuals with DS, HOAs are elevated, and thus the commonly used clinical techniques to determine refractive corrections may fall short. The most common clinical technique for refractive correction determination is subjective refraction whereby a clinician asks the patient to compare different lens options and select the lens that provides the best visual outcome. Given the cognitive demands of the standard subjective refraction technique, clinicians rely on objective clinical techniques to prescribe optical corrections for individuals with DS. This is problematic, because it may result in errors for eyes with elevated HOA given that these techniques do not include measurement of the HOAs. The proposed research evaluates the use of objective wavefront measurements that quantify the HOAs of the eye as a basis for refractive correction determination for patients with DS. The specific aim is to determine whether dilation of the eyes is needed prior to objective wavefront measurements. Dilation of the eyes increases the ability to measure the optical quality of the eye and paralyzes accommodation (the natural focusing mechanism of the eye), which could be beneficial in determining refractions. However, the use of dilation lengthens the process for determining prescriptions and may be less desirable for patients.

The focus of this investigation is to compare the effectiveness of the AAC Generative Language Intervention approach to an AAC Standard of Care condition on preschool sentence productions. All children will use existing AAC iPad applications.
