This was a Phase IV multicenter, randomized, open-label study, with masking of the vision examiner, of the efficacy and safety of intravitreal ranibizumab 0.5 mg in subjects with macular edema following Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (BRVO) or Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO).

The present study provided additional efficacy and safety data for 0.5-mg ranibizumab using as needed (PRN) dosing over 24 months in patients with visual impairment due to macular edema secondary to Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO). Spectral domain high-definition optical coherence tomography (OCT) images was analyzed to gain insights into predictive factors for disease progression and the possibility of reduced monitoring was assessed in Year 2. The results of this open-label study provided long-term safety and efficacy data to further guide recommendations on the use of ranibizumab in this indication.

Intravitreal triamcinolone has been effective for central macular thickness reduction and concomitant visual acuity improvement in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME). VEGF is a very effective inducer of permeability, being 50.000 times more potent than histamine, and may exert its effect on retinal vascular permeability by altering tight-junctions proteins, such as occluding and VE-cadherin. Based on these principles, there is a rationale for anti-VEGF agents treatment of increased retinal capillary permeability conditions, such as diabetic macular edema. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of intravitreal bevacizumab and intravitreal triamcinolone associated to laser photocoagulation for diabetic macular edema.

This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of an intravitreal implant of dexamethasone for the treatment of diabetic macular edema.

Triamcinolone and Bevacizumab Intravitreal for Treatment of Diabetic Macular Edema

This is a phase 3 study to determine the efficacy of VEGF Trap-Eye injected into the eye on vision function in subjects with macular edema as a consequence of central retinal vein occlusion.

The goal of the study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of 4 different doses of iCo-007 Intravitreal Injection in patients with diffuse diabetic macular edema.

The study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of the intravitreal dexamethasone implant in the study eye of vitrectomized subjects with diabetic macular edema. Subjects will be followed for 26 weeks.
