Descriptive Study of Trampoline Accidents in the Pediatric Emergency Department of Rennes
TraumaEmergencies2 moreThe aim of this study is to compare trauma related to others sport to trauma due to trampoline in pediatric emergencies of Rennes.
Delta qSOFA for Risk Stratification in Emergency Infected Patients
SepsisThe study will investigate the prognostic value of qSOFA (quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment) kinetics between H0 and H1, and between H0 and H3 in patients with suspicion of Sepsis, i.e. an initial qSOFA of at least of 2.
Perioperative Point-of-Care Ultrasound
AnesthesiaUltrasound4 moreThe goal of this study is to assess the impact of perioperative point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) assessment on patient-important outcomes (e.g. hospital length of stay, length of stay in recovery, mortality etc.) and perioperative patient management strategies, in patients undergoing non-elective non-cardiac surgeries.
REDucing Unnecessary Computed Tomography Imaging for MaxillOfacial INjury
Maxillofacial InjuriesImage Interpretation3 moreThe aim is to prospectively assess the association between clinical parameters and the presence of maxillofacial fractures in trauma patients admitted to the emergency department. Our hypothesis is that a clinical decision aid of critical parameters reduces unnecessary produced CT scans in maxillofacial trauma patients.
Evaluation of Pain in Urinary Collections in Pediatric Emergencies in Children Who Have Not Acquired...
Urinary Tract Infections in ChildrenObservational study.
Comparison of Inflight First Aid Performed by Cabin Crew Members and Medical Volunteers
EmergencySince the number of air travelers, including the elderly and passengers with an underlying disease, is increasing every year, the number of inflight emergency patients is expected to increase as well. The investigators attempted to identify the incidence and types of inflight medical emergencies and analyze the first aid performed by cabin crew members or medical volunteers in flights by an Asian airline. The investigators also investigated the causes of inflight deaths and aircraft diversions.
Reasons of Transfer in Emergency Units of Patients in End of Life Situation.
End of LifePalliative CareThis qualitative study aimed to describe and understand the factors leading to the admission in emergency unit of patients coming from their home, in an end of life situation. This study was conducted in the university hospital of Besançon, France. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with general practitioners and family members in order to understand the factors leading, from their points of view, to the admission in emergency unit whereas this hospitalization wasn't necessary.
Acute Heart Failure Study in Patients Admitted to Emergency Department for Dyspnea
Heart FailureNo studies have analyzed the predictive value of different anamnestic and clinical signs for the diagnosis of acute heart failure (AHF) in patients admitted to emergency department. That's why the expert group of the AHF of South West of France mobilizes to conduct this study to evaluate the diagnostic predictive value of different anamnestic and clinical signs for the diagnosis of AHF to emergencies.
Diagnostic Performance of Clinical Signs Patients Suspected of Meningitis to Emergencies
MeningitisMeningitis are serious infections. Evidenced by high rates of mortality and sequelae. However, these diseases have a relatively small impact. Also physician services Home Emergencies they must be vigilant, alert, for clinical signs to be suspected meningitis. Indeed, it is only after this essential clinical milestone that will be carried out a lumbar puncture which will confirm the diagnosis and to quickly begin treatment. Unfortunately, if recent studies can improve the therapeutic management of patients with meningitis, no study was interested in yet fundamental step of diagnosis. It seems therefore necessary to achieve a prospective clinical study to reassess the adequacy of the clinical signs in the diagnosis of meningitis. The ideal would be to achieve a predictive clinical score of the presence or absence of meningitis.
Capacity to Consent in Acutely Intoxicated Emergency Department Patients
Informed ConsentThe ability to meaningfully consent intoxicated and chemically dependent patients for research has inhibited medical advances in this vulnerable population. A recent pilot supported use of the University of California, San Diego Brief Assessment of Capacity to Consent tool to assess the capacity of intoxicated emergency department patients to participate in research. The objective is to determine the number of intoxicated emergency department patients who could correctly complete the questionnaire, and evaluate alcohol concentration, sedation and ability to recall participation upon sobriety.
