The purpose of this study is to investigate palonosetron versus ondansetron as rescue medication in subjects that develop postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in the Postanaesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

This study will demonstrate and confirm the efficacy and safety of MK0869 for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in Chinese patients.

Patients diagnosed with malignant glioma who are receiving temozolomide will be accrued in this open label, phase 2, randomized single institution trial of aprepitant in combination with ondansetron versus ondansetron alone for the prevention of acute and delayed chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). Sixty-eight (68) patients will be randomized to each arm of the study.

This study will assess the efficacy of a single dose of intravenous (IV) fosaprepitant (MK-0517, EMEND® IV) as salvage therapy when added to a 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 3 antagonist (5-HT3 RA) and dexamethasone for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced vomiting (CIV) in participants who experienced CIV in the first cycle of moderately emetic chemotherapy (MEC). The primary hypothesis is that there will be no vomiting and no retching in at least 20% of participants during the second cycle of MEC in participants who previously experienced vomiting during the first cycle of MEC.

This is a trial to determine the safety and efficacy of ginger in reducing the prevalence and severity of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting.

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy may relieve symptoms in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. It is not yet known which regimen of radiation therapy is most effective in relieving symptoms in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of different regimens of radiation therapy to relieve symptoms in patients who have non-small cell lung cancer.
