OBS in Adolescent and Adults With EOE: A Phase II, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo Controlled,...
Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)This is a clinical trial to test an experimental drug for the treatment of Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
Maintenance of Remission With Budesonide Orodispersible Tablets vs. Placebo in Eosinophilic Esophagitis...
Eosinophilic EsophagitisThe purpose of this study is to prove the superiority of a 48-weeks treatment with budesonide orodispersible tablets versus placebo for the maintenance of clinico-pathological remission in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis.
Intestinal Permeability in Response to Treatment in Eosinophilic Esophagitis Patients
Eosinophilic EsophagitisDo patient's with eosinophilic esophagitis have increased small intestinal permeability and if this changes in response to topically administered esophageal steroids?
Improved Diagnostics of Celiac Disease in Children
Celiac DiseaseEosinophilic EsophagitisThe main purpose of this study is to improve the diagnostics of celiac disease and reduce the need for invasive endoscopic studies in children. Further, the investigators aim to investigate the natural history and risk of complications in children with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity and to create a large scientific database.
Topical Budesonide Treatment for Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
Eosinophilic EsophagitisThe purpose of this study is to conduct a clinical trial of two formulations of budesonide (nebulized/swallowed versus viscous/swallowed) in patients with EoE to determine if medication contact time and distribution in the esophagus relates to treatment response. The investigators will also determine if there is systemic absorption of these topical steroids. The investigators hypothesize that tissue and symptom response will correlate with esophageal medication contact time and distribution, and that significant systemic absorption will not be seen.
Esophageal Absorption in EoE
Eosinophilic EsophagitisTo determine how the esophagus in active and inactive stages of eosinophilic esophagitis tranmit fluids.
Safety and Pharmacokinetics of Orodispersible BT-11 in Active Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Eosinophilic EsophagitisThe proposed Phase 1b study design was a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, study to evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetics of oral BT-11 in active eosinophilic esophagitis.
Eosinophilic Esophagitis Treatment: Montelukast vs Fluticasone
Eosinophilic EsophagitisDysphagiaThis study will compare response to treatment of Eosinophilic Esophagitis with montelukast vs standard therapy fluticasone. Investigators hypothesize that montelukast is equally effective in treating symptoms and histology of EoE when compared to fluticasone. The study will be conducted at multiple sites with Medical College of Wisconsin as the coordinating site. After identification and recruitment all patients will be randomized (provider blinded) to one of two medications: montelukast 10mg po qday vs fluticasone 440mcg po bid. Patients will also complete a pretreatment, 6 week therapy and 12 week therapy questionaire. They will then undergo a repeat endoscopy to evaluate endoscopic and histologic response.
Predictors of Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) Response in Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Gastroesophageal Reflux DiseaseEosinophilic Esophagitis1 moreThe investigators will determine the prevalence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) and importantly determine the predictors of response to Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) therapy in EoE. Moreover, the investigators will determine the effect of GERD on the location of esophageal eosinophilia.
Study to Image the Esophagus Using the OFDI Capsule
Barrett's EsophagusEosinophilic EsophagitisThe main purpose of this research is to test the feasibility and tolerability of the tethered capsule Optical Frequency Domain Imaging (OFDI)
