Endoscopic Characterisation of Inflammation in EoE
Eosinophilic EsophagitisIn this study, we plan to investigate the accuracy of the EG-760Z endoscope (135x zoom) compared with standard imaging with histology as gold standard in detecting and grading inflammatory activity in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).
Assessing Risk of Food Insecurity Within Households of Children With Food Allergy
Food AllergyAsthma3 moreOur central hypothesis is that dietary limitations introduced by food allergy will contribute to increased food insecurity in households with food allergic children when compared to food insecure households without food allergic children.
The Use of Fractionated Exhaled Nitric Oxide in the Diagnosis and Assessment of Disease Activity...
Eosinophilic EsophagitisThe purpose of the study is to evaluate of the relationships between fractionated exhaled nitric oxide, disease activity, and symptom severity in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis compared to those without eosinophilic esophagitis.
Metabolomics for Biomarker Discovery in Children With EoE
Eosinophilic EsophagitisThe investigators are seeking to enroll 8 children ages 2-18 already undergoing upper endoscopy. For the purposes of research, a peripheral blood and clean catch urine specimen will be obtained to measure plasma and urine metabolomics. The data will be used to determine if there are any key differences in the metabolite profile of subjects found to have eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) versus non-EoE subjects. Once these metabolites are identified, the investigators will seek to enroll many more subjects for a validation phase.
CEGIR 7807: Validation of Online Cohort of EGID Patients Enrolled in RDCRN CEGIR Contact Registry...
Eosinophilic EsophagitisThe purpose of this study is to validate the online cohort of EGID patients enrolled in the RDCRN CEGIR CR. In order to achieve this objective, the investigators will determine the agreement between self-reported EGID information by the enrollees and their physician's report and medical records. All participants enrolled in the RDCRN CEGIR CR with EGIDs will be invited via email to participate in this study.
Eating With Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)Is there a difference in the eating process for patients with active Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) and those with inactive disease?
Prevalence of Eosinophilic Esophagitis in Children With Celiac Disease
Celiac DiseaseEosinophilic EsophagitisCeliac disease (CD) and eosinophilic esophagitis (EE) are distinct diseases of the gastrointestinal tract with specific clinico-pathological characteristics. In recent years, in the literature, several children who underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy for suspected CD, which was confirmed histologically, were also found to have coexistent EE. There are reports of coexistent CD and EE. We would like to see the prevalence of EE in children with CD and the prevalence of CD in children with EE in our population, and to do so would like to review medical records. Our objectives are to determine if children with celiac disease have a high prevalence of eosinophilic esophagitis.and to determine if children with eosinophilic esophagitis have increased risk of developing celiac disease.
Eosinophilic Esophagitis Databank
EsophagitisEosinophilic EsophagitisThis study will establish a registry for participants with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and create a research resource that will provide further insights into EoE.
Mucosal Impedance in Pediatric Population
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)1 moreOur hypothesis is that patients with GERD and/or Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) have lower esophageal impedance measurements when compared to patients who do not have GERD or EE.
a4b7 Integrin in Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Eosinophilic EsophagitisThe overall objective of this preclinical study is to further the investigators mechanistic understanding of the role that the α4β7 and mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule (MAdCAM-1) pathway plays in mediating eosinophil recruitment in EoE. To accomplish this, the investigators aim to (1) determine the baseline and dynamic patterns of α4β7 integrin expression on circulating and tissue eosinophils in EoE and in the setting of non-EoE esophageal eosinophilia (e.g., reflux esophagitis) and (2) determine the complete profile of eosinophil integrin molecules that may play a role in active EoE.
