Observance of Anticonvulsant Treatments and Quality of Life of Epileptic Children
EpilepsyChildren4 moreThere is little epidemiological data in the literature on the therapeutic compliance of epileptic children. Yet it is a fundamental issue in the therapeutic education and balance of this pathology. To obtain more epidemiological precision on the observance of epileptic children and to propose, according to the factors involved, the improvement of practices (therapeutic education ..). Propose an evaluation of the quality of life of their children by a suitable self-questionnaire.
National Study on the Interest of EEG-fMRI in the Presurgical Evaluation of Partial Epilepsies Drug...
Epilepsy IntractableFocal EpilepsyThe main goal of this study is to evaluate the additional value of EEG-fMRI method in the presurgical evaluation of focal intractable epilepsy. To consider a patient for surgery, the main difficulty is to define accurately the epileptogenic zone. This definition is complex and is often supported by several types of exploration (MRI, FDG PET, neuropsychological testing, video-EEG...). In this study we will evaluate the adding value of the simultaneous recording of EEG and fMRI in the epileptogenic zone definition.
Electrical Impedance Tomography of Epilepsy
EpilepsyThe purpose of this study is to determine if Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) can produce reproducible and accurate images in people with epilepsy compared to existing standards such as MRI, CT or EEG. Electrical Impedance Tomography is a relatively new medical imaging method, which has the potential to provide novel images of brain function. It is fast, portable, safe and inexpensive, but currently has a relatively poor spatial resolution. It produces images of the internal electrical impedance of a subject with epilepsy using rings of ECG like electrodes on the skin, intracranial electrode mats or deep electrodes implemented surgically as part of clinical assessment. EIT recording will take place in parallel with the routine recording on the ward. Following completion of the recording, the EIT images will subsequently be analysed and compared to other imaging data for accuracy.
