RFR Change of Precise Segmental Versus Complete Renal Arterial Clamping During LPN for Clinical...
Renal Cell CarcinomaRenal functional reserve may be better in patients with clinical T1 renal cell carcinoma(RCC) undergoing laparoscopic partial nephrectomy with precise segmental renal artery clamping than those with complete renal arterial clamping.
Interest of MRI in Preoperative Staging for the Laryngeal and Hypopharyngeal Cancer
Hypopharyngeal CarcinomaLaryngeal CarcinomaTo determine if MRI can detect preoperative invasion of cartilage by laryngeal and hypopharyngeal carcinoma, and to compare it to CT imaging and histopathology in excised larynges and/or hypopharynges.
Compassionate Use of MitoGel in Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma
Urothelial Carcinoma Ureteral LocationThe aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of MitoGel in the treatment of UTUC in a human subject with low-grade UTUC which is endoscopically unresectable or rapidly recurring, and in whom nephrectomy would likely result in the need for permanent hemodialysis. The study drug would be obtained under the single patient access program approved by the FDA. The patient would then undergo instillation of MitoGel into the affected kidney. The catheter would be left indwelling in the ureter and would be externalized. The ureteral and urethral catheters would remain indwelling for the duration of the 6 treatments, which would occur twice weekly for 3 weeks or once weekly for 6 weeks. Following the final instillation, the catheters would be removed. The patient would then undergo ureteroscopic evaluation at 3 months following the final instillation of MitoGel. The total duration of study would be 3 months. The total number of study patients is 1.

Breast CancerThis is a descriptive, prospective, observational and epidemiological study on participants recently diagnosed with breast cancer to evaluate the HER2 status by IHC and SISH procedures.
Multispectral Imaging to Characterize Patterns of Vascular Supply Within Lymphoepithelial Mucosa...
Oropharyngeal CarcinomaOropharynx CancerThe purpose of this study is to characterize the blood supply at the base of the tongue and within the tonsil region. We hypothesize that high-resolution Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) will improve the diagnosis of oropharyngeal carcinoma (OPC). The goal is to provide the better assessment of tumor and thus providing better preoperative expectations to patients with OPC or tumor extent prior to radiation therapy.
Chromoendoscopy to Detect Early Synchronous Second Primary Esophageal Carcinoma
Squamous Cell Carcinomas of the Head and NeckPatients with HNSCC represent a high-risk group for the development of SESCC. Thus, esophagogastrofibroscopy should be performed to detect possible synchronous esophageal carcinomas in these patients. Although only two patients with synchronous primary carcinomas were found among the patients with newly diagnosed HNSCC in this study, esophagoscopy and better some of advanced endoscopic methods should be recommended after detection of HNSCC to exclude secondary esophageal carcinoma or dysplasia. Staining of the esophagus with Lugol's solution is an easy and inexpensive option and can be done in most of gastroenterology offices.
Hybrid PET/MR in the Therapy of Cervical Cancer
Cervix CarcinomaCervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma1 moreThis is a two arm, single center feasibility study of 20 patients with non-metastatic cervical cancer managed with surgery and/or chemoradiation therapy at UNC Hospitals. Subjects will undergo PET/MRI scans before, during (chemoradiation group only), and after treatment.
Glycosaminoglycan Scores as Monitoring Biomarkers in Confined Renal Cell Carcinoma
CarcinomaRenal CellIn this study, a score based on glycosaminoglycan (GAG) profiling in subjects with suspicion of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is hypothesized to distinguish malignant masses when early actionable clinical decisions are desirable. For example to diagnose early recurrence after surgical treatment; to screen population at risk of RCC; or to distinguish benign masses from RCC before surgical treatment. To this end, plasma and urine GAGs will be measured in a prospective cohort of patients referred to surgical treatment for RCC. The resulting GAG scores are then correlated to post-surgical recurrence, to post-surgical definitive diagnosis and and to tumor size if RCC. In a subset cohort of patients at high risk of RCC recurrence, plasma and urine GAGs will be monitored to observe its correlation with disease recurrence.

Screening for Colorectal Cancer in Older Patients (PLCO Screening Trial)
Colon CarcinomaRectal CarcinomaThis clinical trial studies whether screening methods used to diagnose cancer of the prostate, lung, colon, rectum, or ovaries can reduce deaths from these cancers. Screening tests may help doctors find cancer cells early and plan better treatment for colorectal cancer.
