Brimonidine Tartrate for the Treatment of Injection Related Erythema
Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS)The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the Injection Related Erythema (IRE) mitigation effect of a single administration of brimonidine tartrate in comparison with a vehicle gel (placebo). The secondary study objectives are to evaluate the IRE mitigation effect of a single administration of brimonidine tartrate in comparison with a vehicle gel on a more stringent definition scale, in accordance with the primary endpoint of the original brimonidine pivotal trials and participants' satisfaction with the overall appearance of their skin.

Ultraviolet Exposure, Antioxidant Use and Skin Erythema at Extreme High Altitude
AltitudeUltraviolet Rays3 moreWith the increasing tourism and adventure travel into extreme environments comes the need to reassess the required protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation and possible other oxidative stresses. This is an observational study of UV radiation exposure and skin erythema while at extreme altitude (Mt. Everest). In addition to UV exposure, skin erythema, antioxidant use (such as vitamins C and E) will be measured. Hypothesis: UV radiation at extreme altitude has larger effects on the skin than at sea level; therefore requiring an adjustment of the antioxidant use for adequate protection. The skin is an accurate reflection of UV and oxidative stress exposure The efficacy of oxidatives stress is reflective of the ethnicity of the individual.
Erythema at Exit Site & Tablet Camera
CLABSI - Central Line Associated Bloodstream InfectionCRBSI - Catheter Related Bloodstream Infection1 moreBackground: In critical care medicine central venous catheters play an important role in the source of infections. In the daily routine prior to the diagnosis the suspicion of catheter related infection is discussed in the medical team due to signs of systemic inflammation or exit site infection like erythema, induration or tenderness. However, if an erythema at exit site of a central line can be quantified with a tablet camera, is unknown. Methods: Standardized set of photos will be taken of 10 central lines with a reddened exit site and 10 catheters without an erythema (as a control over time) with a tablet camera and a single-lens reflex camera. The percentage of usable images between tablet and single-lens reflex camera will be analysed. Furthermore, two independent clinical experts from dermatology will grade blinded de-identied images on a scale from 0 to 4 (0 - no erythema, 1- very faint, 2 - faint, 3 - bright, 4 - very bright). Objectives: The primary objective of this feasibility study aims to analyze the reliability of a tablet camera as a device for quantification of erythema around an exit site.
Inflammatory Responses in Solitary and Multiple Erythema Migrans
Erythema MigransThe investigators will evaluate differences in host immune responses (levels of cytokines and chemokines, representative of innate, Th1, and Th17 immune responses) in acute sera from adult patients with solitary or multiple erythema migrans.
Effect of Thoracic Spine Mobilization on Sympathetic Nervous Systems
ErythemaThis pilot study aims to i) represents the feasibility of the study design and ii) to point out acute effects of thoracic spine mobilization on skin-blood flow, erythema and the sympathetic nervous system.
Inflammatory Mediators in Erythema Migrans
Erythema MigransThe main objective of this study is to characterize the inflammatory proteins, gene polymorphisms, and transcriptome profiles in patients with erythema migrans to gain better insight into pathogenesis of early Lyme borreliosis and to define new immune modulators that could serve as biomarkers of disease activity.
M89PF in Rosacea Associated With Erythema and Sensitive Skin
RosaceaRosacea is a common facial dermatosis, with flares induced by exposome factors. M89PF containing Vichy mineralizing water, probiotic fractions, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and tocopherol repairs the skin barrier and reinforces skin defences against exposome factors. This study assessed the benefit of M89PF in patients with rosacea associated with erythema and sensitive skin during the Covid-19 pandemic with use of protective face masks.
Safety and Feasibility of Prima-Temp Thermometer Patch
ErythemaEdema2 moreThe purpose of this study is to test the safety and feasibility of the Prima-Temp Thermometer Patch in determining baseline temperatures of research subjects in a hospital intensive care unit (ICU). Primary Objective: Assess safety of the Prima-Temp temperature patch with nursing staff skin site assessments. Secondary Objective: Establish individual subject baseline temperature using intermittent temperature measurements (every 5 minutes) with the Prima-Temp thermometer patch and wireless transmission of the data to a receiver box and HIPAA compliant, centrally located personal computer (PC) and compare research subject's baseline temperature with temperatures taken in the ICU in the normal course of care.
Validation of a New Hand Held Light Emitting Diode Device for the Determination of Minimal Erythema...
PhototherapyThe purpose of this study is to validate a new hand held light emitting diode (LED) device for the measurement of minimal erythema dose (MED) for narrow band Ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation by comparing to the traditional approach of measurement of the minimal erythema dose.
