The Role of PET/MRI in Predicting the Outcome of Definitive Chemoradiotherapy for Esophageal Cancer...

Esophageal Cancer

PET/MRI has the advantage to assess the metabolism, diffusion, and perfusion parameters of the tumor simultaneously and has been investigated in some cancers with promising results. In this study, we prospectively investigate the role of PET/MRI in evaluating the outcome of patients with esophageal cancer treated by definitive chemoradiotherapy.

PET/MRI in Predicting the Outcome of Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy With Esophagectomy in Esophageal...

Esophageal Cancer

Integrated PET/MRI has the advantage to assess the metabolism, diffusion, and perfusion parameters of the tumor simultaneously. Recently, PET/MRI has been investigated in several cancers with promising results. In this study, we prospectively investigate the role of multiparametric PET/MRI in evaluating the outcome of patients with esophageal cancer treated by neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and surgery.

Efficacy of Inspiratory Muscle Training on Respiratory Performance in Patients With Esophageal Cancer...

Esophageal Cancer

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of inspiratory muscle training (IMT) on respiratory performance in patients with esophageal cancer during combined modality therapy.

Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy of Nanoparticle Albumin-bound Paclitaxel in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of...

Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Esophagus

Albumin-bound paclitaxel regimen in advanced NSCLC has a better tumor response rate and safety than solvent-based paclitaxel. However, the safety and efficacy is uncertain in neoadjuvant therapy in esophageal cancer. The objective of this single-arm phase II trial was to evaluate the benefit of neoadjuvant chemotherapy with nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel plus 5-fluorouracil in patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

Metformin Hydrochloride in Preventing Esophageal Cancer in Patients With Barrett Esophagus

Barrett EsophagusEsophageal Cancer

This randomized phase II trial studies how well metformin hydrochloride works in preventing esophageal cancer in patients with Barrett esophagus. Chemoprevention is the use of certain drugs to keep cancer from forming. The use of metformin hydrochloride may keep esophageal cancer from forming.

Ursodiol in Treating Patients With Barrett Esophagus and Low-Grade Dysplasia

Barrett EsophagusEsophageal Carcinoma

This pilot phase II trial studies how well ursodiol works in treating patients with Barrett esophagus or cells that look abnormal under a microscope but are not cancer (low-grade dysplasia). Chemoprevention is the use of certain drugs to keep cancer from forming. The use of ursodiol may keep cancer for forming in patients with Barrett esophagus or low-grade dysplasia.

Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) for Nodal Staging in Esophageal Cancer

Esophageal Cancer

The purpose of this study is determine if performing endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) in addition to standard endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) can increase the precision and accuracy of staging esophageal cancer in comparison to EUS alone. The expectation is that EBUS can be used to biopsy lymph nodes that: (1) because of their position in the mediastinum would be inaccessible to EUS, or (2) would be inaccessible due to their position behind the esophageal tumor.

Positron Emission Tomography in Determining Stage of Esophageal Cancer

Esophageal Cancer

RATIONALE: Imaging procedures such as positron emission tomography may improve the ability to determine the stage of esophageal cancer. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well fludeoxyglucose F 18 positron emission tomography determines tumor stage in patients with esophageal cancer.

High-flow Nasal Cannula Oxygenation Decrease Hypoxia in Gastroscopy Sedated by Propofol

HypoxiaGastric Cancer2 more

Hypoxia is the most common adverse events during sedated gastroscopy. In present study, high-flow nasal cannula oxygenation will be utilized in order to reduce the hypoxia. At the same time the feasibility and safety will be evaluated.
