Study Evaluating Pantoprazole in Children With Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
Gastroesophageal RefluxTo evaluate the clinical outcomes of treatment with oral pantoprazole in children 1 through 5 years of age with endoscopically proven symptomatic GERD.
Morphological Markers of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
Eosinophilic EsophagitisGastroesophageal Reflux DiseaseThe purpose of this project is to learn more about a new and promising way to diagnose acid reflux disease using a very high-powered microscope. This special microscope provides much finer detail than typical microscopes previously used for diagnosing reflux, and may help doctors to better identify children with acid reflux.

Gastroesophageal Reflux DiseaseGERD1 moreAdministration of esomeprazole 20 mg to subjects who still had heartburn after receiving rabeprazole 10 mg once daily for at least 4 weeks will result in statistically significant improvement of heartburn after 8-week treatment.
Role of Mosapride in Patients With Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Gastroesophageal Reflux DiseaseGastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a very common disease in the Western World. In Taiwan, this disease is increasing gradually because the investigators' eating style is closing to Western world. Proton pump is the main drug for patients with GERD in the past two decades. Prokinetic agent is an important adjuvant to the therapy of GERD. This study aims to evaluate the role of prokinetic agent in the management of GERD.
Outcomes After Medical and Surgical Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Gastroesophageal Reflux DiseaseThe aims of this study are to create a prospective data base to evaluate the long term outcomes of medical and surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD); to measure standard outcomes as well as patient derived outcomes such as general and disease specific quality of life (QOL) issues and patient satisfaction; to refine the parameters that may identify patients who will benefit from surgery for GERD; and to identify possible determinants of failure of both medical and surgical treatments of reflux.
Trial to Assess the Effects of an Antimicrobial Mouthwash on the Esophageal Microbiome
Esophageal AdenocarcinomaBarrett's Esophagus1 moreThis is a randomized, open-label pilot study to assess whether treatment with chlorhexidine mouthwash can alter the esophageal and gastric cardia microbiome
Effect of a Combination of Hyaluronic Acid, Chondroitin Sulphate and Magnesium Trisilicate on Subjects...
Gastro Esophageal RefluxThe aim of this study is to investigate whether a 3-week treatment with an oral melt in mouth medical device, made up with hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulphate and magnesium trisilicate, can lead to a reduction of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease symptoms and to an improvement of the integrity of esophageal mucosa in patients who are to experiencing esophagus symptoms. The study is a randomized, double-blind cross-over placebo controlled study. Every patient will get both the active study device during one study period and placebo during another another period.
Laparoscopic Total vs Partial Fundoplication in Patients With Atypical Symptoms of Gastroesophageal...
Gastroesophageal Reflux DiseaseOne hundred and twenty patients with documented extraesophageal symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease were randomized to either undergo floppy Nissen (n= 60) or Toupet fundoplication (n= 60). Symptom scores of extraesophageal symotoms and quality of life were prospectively evaluated. Analysis of the treatment results showed a significant improvement of symptoms in both patient groups.Quality of life improved substantially at short- and long-term follow up in both groups and there were no statistical differences between the groups in this parameter.
A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Efficacy Study Comparing 4 Weeks of...
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)This study includes patients with sleep disturbances associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and has 3 treatment arms. Patients will receive only one of the following treatment arms: esomeprazole 20 mg once daily, esomeprazole 40 mg once daily, matching placebo once daily. The relief to the sleep disturbances will be assessed.
Influence of Airway Clearance Techniques on GOR in Infants
Gastro-oesophageal RefluxThe purpose of this study is to determine whether Assisted Autogenic Drainage (AAD) or bouncing combined with Assisted Autogenic Drainage (BAAD), induces or aggravates acid and non-acid gastro-oesophageal reflux in infants under the age of one year. Infants, referred to the hospital for impedance-pH monitoring are included in this study.
