Nitrates and IL-8 in Barrett's Esophagus

Barrett EsophagusEsophageal Adenocarcinoma

The purpose of this study is to determine if nitrates and IL-8 (which are found in food and throughout the body regulating stomach acidity) play a role in Barrett's Esophagus and/or Esophageal Adenocarcinoma severity and if screening for these biomarkers can help predict patients that are more at risk for developing worsening disease.

Study of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) for Supportive and Symptomatic Management in Patients...

Esophageal Obstruction

The main symptom of patients with advanced esophageal cancer is eating obstruction. In clinical practice, patients need to wait for a long time before anti-tumor treatment, which will lead to a rapid decline in the quality of life and nutritional status of patients, and severe patients sometimes need to place nasointestinal feeding tubes or endoscopic stents. EGCG has been shown to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects . The complex effects of EGCG may improve esophageal obstruction during the waiting period before antineoplastic therapy. The purpose of this phase I study was to explore the safety, recommended dose and preliminary efficacy of EGCG solution in the treatment of esophageal obstruction.

Combination of Toripalimab and Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy in Esophageal Cancer

Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma by AJCC V8 StageResectable Esophageal Cancer

Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT) followed by surgery has become the standard treatment option for locally advanced esophageal cancer (EC). However, only 20% to 40% of EC patients can achieve pathologic complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant CRT with favorable prognosis. Immunotherapy targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoints has demonstrated promising activity in advanced EC. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the combination of toripalimab (an anti-PD-1 antibody) combined with neoadjuvant CRT in locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).

GASC1 Inhibitor Caffeic Acid for Squamous Esophageal Cell Cancer (ESCC)

Esophagus CancerStage III

Caffeic acid can target inhibit GASC1 (gene amplified in squamous cell carcinoma 1, also known as KDM4C and JMJD2C) expression and GASC1 is confirmed to be a new oncogene in several cancers including esophageal cancer. This study aims to investigate the efficiency and safety of coffeic acid in chinese advanced esophageal squamous cell cancer (ESCC).

A Phase II Trial to Compare Efficacy and Safety of CRT VS Neo-CRT in Patients Who Achieved CCR for...

Stage II Esophageal CancerStage III Esophageal Cancer

Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(Neo-CRT) plus surgery has been regarded as a standard of care for patients with resectable locally advanced oesophageal cancer. Many studies suggest that definitive Radiochemotherapy(CRT) has similar efficacy as neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy plus surgery for esophageal cancers who respond to chemoradiation. Herein, a single center prospective randomized phase II clinical trial will be carried out to compare efficacy and safety of definitive radiochemotherapy versus neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy plus radical resection in patients who achieved clinical complete response(CCR) after neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy for stage II-III esophageal Cancer.
