Study of Iodine Contrast Media Extravasation

Contrast Media Extravasation

The purpose of this study is to determine the best intervention after the extravasation of the iodinated contrast medium out of a vessel into the surrounding tissues.

Normal Saline Versus Heparinized Solution Flush for Maintaining Patency of Peripheral Venous Catheters...

Infection of Intravenous CatheterPhlebitis1 more

The aim of the study is to verify if the periodic flush with normal saline 0.9% NaCl causes a longer or equal duration of patency of peripheral venous catheters, compared with heparin solution 50 U / ml flush, in children from 2 years to 14 years. Only 22 and 24 gauge catheters Will be included in the study. The study will assess in particular: the difference of permanence in situ of the device the difference in incidence of complications (in detail: obstruction, phlebitis, thrombocytopenia, systemic anticoagulation) the difference in costs between use of saline normal saline 0.9% NaCl solution and heparinized 50 U / ml.

Optical Detection of Intravenous Infiltration

Intravenous InfiltrationExtravasation of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Materials

The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of an optical device designed and developed for monitoring the intravenous infusion site for infiltration. The hypothesis is that the changes in optical signals measured near the infusion site using the optical device can be used to monitor intravenous infusion for infiltration.

Evaluation of a Novel Method of Contrast Volume Quantification - AVERT PLUS

Extravasation of Contrast Media

Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of the AVERT PLUS to monitor contrast volume used during angiographic procedures. Research Design: The AVERT PLUS is an FDA 510K cleared device which consists of a contrast delivery modulator designed to reduce unnecessary contrast dye delivery to the patient during angiography (coronary or peripheral) and a concomitant system to precisely measure contrast volume delivered to the patient. This will be a first in man prospective observational study of the accuracy of this system to quantify contract volume used during clinically indicated angiography in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Monitoring the Peripheral Intravenous Infusion Site for Infiltration and Extravasation

InfiltrationExtravasation3 more

The purpose of this study to to monitor the peripheral intravenous (PIV) site on subjects receiving continuous IV fluids for infiltration and extravasation events. Infiltration is an indication that the PIV is leaking fluids outside of the vascular system. The study hypothesis is to demonstrate that changes in the optical signals of the non-invasive monitoring medical device will detect infiltration and extravasation events.
