Vaccine Therapy in Patients With Stage II, III, or IV Epithelial Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Peritoneal...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

This was a Phase 2, single-center, open-label study of recombinant vaccinia-NY-ESO-1 (rV-NY-ESO-1) and recombinant fowlpox-NY-ESO-1 (rF-NY-ESO-1) injections in patients who had a complete response to standard therapy for epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal carcinoma and whose tumors expressed NY-ESO-1 or LAGE-1 antigen. Study objectives were to evaluate maintenance of remission at 12 months, time to failure of vaccine therapy, cellular and humoral immunity and any correlation with time to failure, and safety.

Bevacizumab and Erlotinib in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Metastatic Ovarian Epithelial,...

Fallopian Tube CancerPrimary Peritoneal Cavity Cancer2 more

This phase II trial is studying how well giving bevacizumab together with erlotinib works in treating patients with recurrent or metastatic ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cavity cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving bevacizumab together with erlotinib may kill more tumor cells.

Erlotinib or Observation in Treating Patients Who Have Undergone First-Line Chemotherapy for Ovarian...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Sometimes after treatment, the tumor may not need additional treatment until it progresses. In this case, observation may be sufficient. It is not yet known whether erlotinib is more effective than observation after first-line chemotherapy in treating patients with ovarian cancer, peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying erlotinib to see how well it works compared to observation in treating patients who have undergone first-line chemotherapy for ovarian cancer, peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer.

Erlotinib, Docetaxel, and Carboplatin in Treating Patients With Newly Diagnosed Stage III or Stage...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving erlotinib together with docetaxel and carboplatin may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of erlotinib when given together with docetaxel and carboplatin and to see how well they work in treating patients with newly diagnosed stage III or stage IV ovarian epithelial, primary peritoneal cavity, or fallopian tube cancer.

Gemcitabine and Topotecan in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Persistent Ovarian, Fallopian Tube,...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine and topotecan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving gemcitabine together with topotecan works in treating patients with recurrent or persistent ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cavity cancer.

Polyglutamate Paclitaxel and Carboplatin in Treating Patients With Ovarian Epithelial, Peritoneal,...

Fallopian Tube CarcinomaMalignant Ovarian Mixed Epithelial Tumor9 more

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of polyglutamate paclitaxel when given together with carboplatin in treating patients with ovarian epithelial, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy such as polyglutamate paclitaxel and carboplatin use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Polyglutamate paclitaxel may be able to deliver the drug directly to tumor cells while leaving normal cells undamaged. Combining polyglutamate paclitaxel with carboplatin may kill more tumor cells.

PS-341 Plus Carboplatin in Platinum and Taxane Resistant Recurrent Ovarian Cancer, Primary Peritoneal...

Ovarian CancerPrimary Peritoneal Cancer1 more

The goal of this clinical research study is to find the highest safe dose of PS-341 that can be given with carboplatin chemotherapy as a treatment for patients with ovarian, abdominal, or fallopian tube cancer. Researchers also hope to find out if giving these drugs together will help shrink or slow the growth of tumors in patients who are considered resistant to platinum drugs. The safety of these drugs will also be studied.

Monoclonal Antibody Vaccine Therapy in Treating Patients With Ovarian Epithelial, Fallopian Tube,...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Vaccines made from monoclonal antibodies combined with tumor cells may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase I trial to study the effectiveness of vaccine therapy in treating patients who have ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer.

Completed55 enrollment criteria

Bicalutamide and Goserelin in Treating Patients With Cancer of the Ovary, Fallopian Tube, or Peritoneum...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Some tumors need growth factors produced by the body's white blood cells to keep growing. Goserelin may interfere with the growth factor and may stop the tumor from growing. Bicalutamide may prevent androgens from stimulating the growth of cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of goserelin plus bicalutamide in treating patients who have refractory or recurrent cancer of the ovary, fallopian tube, or peritoneum.

Irofulven in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Persistent Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Peritoneal...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of irofulven in treating patients who have recurrent or persistent ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer.
