DementiaAlzheimer's Disease1 moreThis initial four-months pilot study will focus on at least three educational courses (introduction to dementia and lifestyle risk factors, sleep and diet). It may also include a fourth educational course on social connectivity and loneliness. Completion of this initial pilot study will allow for a round of improvements informed by data from the program, on usability, as well as feedback from participants and citizen advisors. This will allow for an iterative process to build the program to its full content, with feedback to optimize the user experience and ensure the accessibility of the content. The information generated from this study will help inform the development of the second program's prototype, expected to benefit from the initial pilot to become more user-friendly, effective and accessible to the target audience. This pilot study will be a longitudinal study of an inception cohort exposed to the HALT-AD online educational program for a four-month study. It will utilize pre- and post- intervention collection of quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate the program's first prototype.
Stimulating Neural Activity to Improve Blood Flow and Reduce Amyloid: Path to Clinical Trials
Alzheimer DiseaseAlzheimer's disease is characterized by the accumulation of toxic proteins in the brain. Mechanisms to remove these proteins have been the target of many drug trials. This study is designed to use a device to entrain brain waves to a specific frequency to see if rodent research can be replicated in humans with mild cognitive impairment. Ten participants will be recruited from the Emory Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) database and assigned to either treatment for 8 weeks or treatment for 4 weeks. This latter group will serve as the control group (4 weeks no treatment, 4 weeks treatment). It is hypothesized that exposure to the gamma oscillations (Flicker) will clear toxic proteins from the brain and increase cerebral blood flow.
Vietnamese Caregiver Intervention Study
Alzheimer's Disease (Incl Subtypes)Cognitive ImpairmentThe purpose of this study is to develop and implement a culturally-appropriate intervention to reduce stress in Vietnamese dementia caregivers. A pilot intervention will be done to test the feasibility and acceptability of the intervention in a community setting. This will be done by randomly assigning a family triad (primary caregiver, secondary caregiver, and their care recipient) into an active intervention or a control condition and monitoring findings at baseline, post-intervention, and at three months.The intervention will consist of multiple components -enhanced psycho-education that includes discussion of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and cultural impacts on beliefs about dementia and caregiving, management of problem behaviors, facilitation of support seeking, and mindful Tai Chi. A secondary caregiver who the primary caregiver identifies as providing him/her with the most support will be invited to join all components, but the intervention will be flexible depending on caregivers' needs/preferences. The care recipient is not required to join the sessions but will be able to if he/she or the family wishes. During the intervention, community partners will provide respite care for the care recipient.
Tailored Music Therapy for Dementia

The music therapy is administered individually and includes a close caregiver. Memory of familiar music is found to be retained in persons with dementia. It is assumed to facilitate autobiographical memories and stimulate interaction with significant others. Based on time series analyses we will use statistical process control to evaluate when and how change occur.
A Study of LY3303560 in Healthy Participants and Participants With Alzheimer's Disease (AD)
Alzheimer's DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of the study drug, LY3303560. Side effects and laboratory results will be monitored. This study will involve single doses of LY3303560 administered intravenously (IV), meaning into a vein or subcutaneously (SC), meaning under the skin. Screening is required within 28 days before the start of the study for healthy participants and within 70 days before the start of the study for AD participants. The study requires about 16 weeks of each participant's time including a 4 day clinical research unit (CRU) admission and 10 follow-up appointments. This is the first time that this study drug is being given to participants. This study is for research purposes only, and is not intended to treat any medical condition.

Accurate WiFi-Based Localization of Dementia Patients For Caregiver Support:

Evaluation will use semi-structured interviews and participant observation data collected from professional and family caregivers of patients with moderate or mild dementia.
Narcolepsy Protect Against Alzheimer's Disease?
NarcolepsyAmyloid PathologyLinks between orexin and amyloid processes have been underlined recently. During the Alzheimer's process an upregulation of the orexin mechanism has been observed. The pathophysiological mechanism of narcolepsy type 1 is linked to orexin deficiency. Thus, the investigators hypothesized that patients with narcolepsy may be protected from amyloid brain lesions, hallmarks of the Alzheimer's process. To test this hypothesis, the investigators analyzed the brain amyloid load measured by PET-scan amyloid brain imaging in patients with narcolepsy type 1 compared to controls without cognitive deficits.
A Study of LY3002813 in Participants With Memory Damage Due to Alzheimer's Disease (AD) or AD
Alzheimer DiseaseThe study will evaluate the effect of LY3002813 on brain scans. The study will evaluate the safety of LY3002813 by looking at adverse events (side effects). The study will also look at the effect the body has on LY3002813. Study participants will have mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to AD or mild to moderate AD. The study involves 3 parts. Part A in which participants will receive a single dose of LY3002813 or placebo (no drug). Part B in which participants will receive multiple doses of LY3002813 or placebo for 24 weeks. Part C in which participants will receive multiple doses of LY3002813 or placebo for up to 72 weeks. Drug will be given as an intravenous infusion (injection into a vein). For Parts A, B and C, the study will last approximately 72 weeks, not including screening of approximately 56 days. The study is for research purposes only and is not intended to treat any medical condition.
