Effect of the Cycloergometer in Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

Physiological changes caused by hematological diseases associated with high dose chemotherapy have a negative impact on patient's functionality, making them more fragile and vulnerable after hematopoietic cell transplantation. Currently, randomized studies have shown that physical exercise can contribute to improve Quality of Life of these patients. In this randomized controlled trial, we will study the effect of using the bicycle ergometer on the physical performance of patients undergoing transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCT).

The objective of this study is to carry out a randomized clinical trial with healthcare workers in Mexico through a web platform. The intervention aims to reduce anxiety, depressive symptoms, burnout, stress, compassion fatigue, and increase the quality of life and sleep and self-care, as well as improve skills in providing bad news to patients and their families. A self-applied intervention will be compared with an intervention delivered by therapists providing the same intervention implemented through Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams, to ensure sanitary protection measures.

This study aims to investigate the effect of a 2-week trial of bright light therapy (BLT, 10.000 lx) on fatigue in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. In this randomised placebo-controlled trial, the effect of bright light therapy will be compared to dim red light. MS-fatigue is quantified by patients using a visual analogue scale (VAS) and activity levels, subjective and objective sleep parameters and daytime sleepiness are measured.

Fatigue is different from post-stroke depression and the more serious stroke patients are more prone to fatigue(Windward et al., 2009). Fatigue is one of the symptoms of qi deficiency,and Astragalus membranaceus is the most effective of all traditional Chinese medicine and can tonifying middle and tonify the original qi. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of Astragalus membranaceus on post-stroke fatigue.
