Online Prevention Program for Eating Disorders Applied to College Students. Spanish Validation of...

Eating Disorders

The goal of this clinical trial is to analyze and compare in female college women two prevention programs for eating disorders, the Spanish Version of the eBodyProject and a traditional/educational prevention program. The main question it aims to answer is: • The Spanish Version of the eBodyProject (intervention group) is more effective to prevent the onset of eating disorders with college students than a traditional psychological and educational prevention program (control group). Participants will have to complete two main phases: assessment (pre- prevention program) and conducting the eBodyProject or traditional prevention program. The duration of the program is 4 weeks. If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare the Spanish eBodyProject Group with the traditional group to see and compare the effectiveness of each intervention arm.

Virtual Body Project Groups Led by Peers Versus Clinicians

Eating DisordersBody Image

Eating disorders (EDs) are a group of illnesses associated with significant psychological and physiological consequences. Overall, only 20% of individuals with EDs receive treatment and treatment is effective for only about 25-35% for those who receive care. The development and implementation of effective prevention approaches for those at risk is therefore pivotal. The Body Project is the most effective ED prevention program for at-risk females according to meta-analyses, but reach has been limited since delivery has traditionally been in-person. Further research is warranted to examine cost-effective and easily accessible approaches to increase scalability and potential for broad implementation. With this application, the investigators therefore propose to examine the effectiveness of the Body Project in young females, a high-risk group, with the following main novel aspects: i) virtually-delivered Body Project groups to maximize reach; ii) peer-led versus clinician-led virtually-delivered Body Project groups; iii) the inclusion of objective measures to assess engagement of intervention targets (i.e., mediator).

Genetic Architecture of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder

ARFIDEating Disorders3 more

The goal of this observational study is to rapidly accelerate knowledge about the biology of avoidant and restrictive food intake disorder or ARFID in children ages 7-17 and in adults. The investigators will be evaluating the genetic and environmental origins of ARFID. Participants will be asked to answer questionnaires online and to submit a saliva sample for DNA using a kit that will be mailed to their home.

Substance Use and Eating Disorders : Food Craving and Addiction Transfer

Substance Use DisordersEating Disorders

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Eating Disorders (ED) are severe and persistent disturbances that are associated with significant harm. These two disorders have many clinical similarities, including craving and behavioral loss of control. Recently, craving for food has been described in newly abstinent patients with SUD. the aim of the study is to verify the hypothesis of addiction transfer based on common neurobiological mechanisms between substance craving and food craving, that postulates that food craving would correspond to an attempt to regulate substance craving (or vice versa).

Evaluation of ORALQUEST

Feeding and Eating Disorders of Childhood

Feeding and eating disorders are frequent in children of the general population. They are much more frequent in children with congenital chronic diseases. The analysis of feeding and eating disorders in children is difficult since their causes are complex and multiple. In addition to the clinical examination and the instrumental investigation, a parental questionnaire is very useful in assessing these disorders. The questionnaire (testing the right period of age, evaluating the 4 aspects involved in the disorders, translated in French) does not exist. Consequently, the Necker team of the reference center, has built a hetero-questionnaire named ORALQUEST, which analyses 4 dimensions of the feeding and eating disorders of young children from 9 months to 6 years: behaviour, oral motor skills, sensory sensitivity and familial environment. The objective of the study is to test the metrological qualities of Oralquest in children with congenital chronic diseases including feeding and eating disorders. The questionnaire will be proposed to 7 cohorts of children who are followed in Necker for : oesophageal atresia, cardiac malformations, Pierre Robin sequence, cleft lip and palate, autism spectrum disorders, ex-prematurity < 32 AG, chromosomal anomalies, and proposed to children consulting in the expert center for phobic and selective eating behaviour. The analysis of the metrological qualities of the questionnaire include several calculation and specialized methods: inter-rate concordance; test-retest; intrinsic validity, concurrent validity, sensitivity/specificity.

Early Protein Supplementation in Extremely Preterm Infants Fed Human Milk

Prematurity; ExtremeFeeding Disorder Neonatal3 more

The central hypothesis of this clinical trial is that, in extremely preterm infants, protein-enriched human milk diets compared to usual human milk diets during the first 2 weeks after birth increase fat-free mass (FFM)-for-age Z scores and promote maturation of the gut microbiome at term corrected age.

The JULI Registry--Hemp and Cannabis Observational Registry

Chronic PainAppetite Disorders5 more

The JuLi Registry seeks to fill some of the gaps associated with the clinical use of CBD (cannabidiol) and other cannabinoid formulations including THC and others. The overarching goal of this Registry is to rapidly advance research and understanding of the use of cannabis and hemp-based formulations, in the clinical community setting, when it is utilized to manage the symptoms of cancer treatment and other underlying health issues. These symptoms include nausea, neuropathy, and sleeplessness and chronic pain.
