Short-term Functional Recovery Between Early- and Late Bisphosphonate Treatment Following Hemiarthroplasty...
Osteoporotic FracturesFemoral Neck FractureFemoral neck fracture in the elderly is one indication for initiating osteoporosis treatment. Bisphosphonates remain the first line therapy; however, many orthopaedic surgeons concern regarding their effects on fracture healing process. Therefore, therapy is usually delayed for a period of time. To the best of our knowledge, there is no scientific data to support whether bisphosphonate treatment should be given immediately after the surgery or it should be delayed.
Intrathecal Morphine,Femoral Nerve Block,Periarticular Bupivacaine Infiltration for Pain After Intramedullary...
Femoral Neck FracturesFalls are a common problem in elderly patients resulting fractured femur, which require early operation. Adequate postoperative pain control will provide good recovery. The investigators will compare the efficacy of postoperative pain control among intrathecal morphine, femoral nerve block, and periarticular infiltration with bupivacaine in patients undergone intramedullary hip screw under spinal anesthesia.
Clinical Use of Andante SmartStep System in Gait Rehabilitation
Ankle InjuriesFemoral Neck FracturesThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the biofeedback gait training device in improving load bearing over an operated limb, during post-operative gait training therapy. The effectiveness of the device will also be tested in self-training at home.
PMCF Study of the CLS Brevius Stem With Kinectiv Technology
OsteoarthritisAvascular Necrosis3 moreThis study is a multi-center, prospective, non-controlled post-market surveillance study. The primary objective of this study is to confirm the safety and performance of the CLS Brevius stem with Kinectiv technology by obtaining implant survivorship and clinical outcomes data for the commercially available stem.
The Effect of Periarticular Multi-Drug Regimen on Pain After Partial Hip Replacement
Femoral Neck FractureThis prospective randomized study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of periarticular multi-drug regimen injection on the relief of pain in patients undergoing partial hip replacement. Total 258 patients will be randomized into one of two groups (groupC or groupI) based on Excel number generation. Patients in group C will receive no medication intraoperatively, and patients in group I will receive oral oxycodone and celecoxib preoperatively and a periarticular injection of multi-drug regimen during operation. Visual analogue scale pain scores, fentanyl consumption and the frequency at which patients pushed the button (FPB) of a patient-controlled analgesia system will be recorded at 1, 4, 7 postoperative day.
Single Dose of Dexamethasone in Femur Fractures
Fractured Neck of FemurFracture neck of femur is a common cause of hospital admission in the elderly and requires operative fixation. Dexamethasone has the potential of inhibiting cortisol secretion. In addition, preoperative glucocorticoids improve analgesia and decrease opioid consumption with reduction in associated side effects in a variety of clinical settings. The investigators hypothesis was that a single dose of preoperative dexamethasone enhance postoperative analgesia and attenuates the inflammatory response in patients undergoing operative fixation of fractured neck of femur, in a prospective, randomized, placebo controled trial.
Supercapsular Percutaneously Assisted Total Hip Approach for the Elderly With Femoral Neck Fractures...
Femoral Neck FracturesTo test that the SuperPATH approach is more safe and reliable for hip functional recovery compared with the postolateral approach in the artificial hip replacement for femoral neck fractures in the elderly.
Hemiarthroplasty Compared to Total Hip Arthroplasty for Displaced Femoral Neck Fractures in the...
Femoral Neck FracturesTotal Hip Arthroplasty is equal to or better than Hemiarthroplasty in the treatment of displaced femoral neck fractures in the elderly-elderly
Porous Tantalum Rods Improve the Hip Joint Function of Patients With Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral...
Femoral Neck FractureTo confirm 1) whether, compared with core decompression alone, core decompression with porous tantalum rod implantation improves the hip joint function of patients with avascular necrosis of the femoral head after femoral neck fracture surgery, 2) whether porous tantalum rod shows favorable biocompatibility with the human body, and 3) whether this treatment method is feasible for treating avascular necrosis of the femoral head after femoral neck fracture surgery.
PENG Versus Femoral Nerve Block in Neck of Femur Fracture
Neck of Femur FractureNeck of femur (NOF) fracture is a common presentation to the emergency department, particularly in our older population. NOF fracture is associated with a high social and economic cost with significant effects on patients' quality of life. Analgesia and ambulation are important determinants of outcome following NOF surgery. We propose to compare whether PENG or Femoral Nerve Block is associated with a greater degree of quadriceps motor dysfunction.
