Factors Influencing Volumetric MR-HIFU Ablation of Uterine Fibroids
Uterine FibroidMagnetic resonance (MR)-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation is increasingly being used worldwide to treat symptomatic uterine fibroids because of its excellent therapeutic efficacy in controlling symptoms and its excellent safety record. Despite the benefits, it should be recognized that MR HIFU ablation does not always yield good therapeutic outcomes. High signal intensity on T2-weighted MR images and a high volume transfer constant (or Ktrans) on dynamic contrast material-enhanced MR images are the most well-known risk factors for poor ablation outcomes as measured with the non-perfused volume (NPV) ratio (ie, NPV divided by fibroid volume). The aim of this study is to assess the influence of fibroid perfusion (evaluated by MRI and contrast enhanced ultrasound), apparent diffusion coefficient (evaluated by MR-diffusion imaging) and fibroid stiffness (evaluated by ARFI) on ablation efficiency during uterine fibroid treatment by MR-HIFU.
Treatment of Uterine Fibroids With Magnetic Resonance Guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound
Uterine LeiomyomaThe purpose of this study is to demonstrate the effectiveness of MR-HIFU for the treatment of uterine fibroids in Northwestern Ontario, which is a rural and remote setting.
Laparoscopic Cryoablation of Uterine Fibroids
Symptomatic Uterine FibroidsThe goal of this study is to evaluate the safety & efficacy of cryoablation using IceCure medical's IceSense3™ device for the treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids in a percutaneous lap-assisted approach.
Assessment of the Manageability and Safety of ADBLOCK Adhesion Barrier System in Laparoscopic Gynaecological...
UTERINE MYOMASAdhesions are the most frequent complication of abdominopelvic surgery. They are internal scar tissues which form as a result of surgery which may abnormally join together what were once separate tissues and organs. This study will assess the safety and usability of anti-adhesion agent (gel) when used after laparoscopic surgery. The study will enroll 30 patients, (randomised 2:1) with safety primary endpoint (adverse events in ADBLOCK and surgery only group) assessed at 28 days
AMH Levels Change During Treatment With GnRh Agonist
Uterine FibroidsEndometriosis2 moreTo evaluate the variation of AMH levels in women undergoing treatment with GnRHa, and to assess whether this variation correlates with changes in the antral and pre-antral follicle ultrasonographic count (AFC).
Study to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of MRgFUS Compared With Myomectomy for the Treatment...
Uterine FibroidsBleeding1 moreThe objective of this trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ExAblate for the treatment of uterine fibroids. Women, seeking treatment for symptomatic uterine leiomyomata will be eligible for the study.Women who agree to participate will sign an informed consent and will be randomized to ExAblate treatment or myomectomy. All patients will be followed through the 36 month visit. Follow-up visits/telephone calls will be completed at 1 week, 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6, 12, 18, 24 and 36 months post treatment. Patients will be evaluated by assessing their overall physical and mental health as well as for device/procedure related adverse events.
Aromatase Inhibitors for Treatment of Uterine Leiomyomas
Symptomatic or Large Uterine FibroidsFibroids are benign tumors that might results in bleeding. Surgery is their definitive treatment. Some medical therapies have been tried for women who wish to preserve their uterus. Recent reports have demonstrated a role for a new category of drugs called aromatase inhibitor (such as Femara) in the treatment of fibroids. This study is conducted to assess the effect of Femara (letrozole) on the size of fibroids in women around menopause.
Safety and Effectiveness Study of RF Ablation of Uterine Fibroids to Reduce Menstrual Bleeding:...
LeiomyomaUterine Fibroids1 moreThe primary objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that a minimum 75% volume radiofrequency ablation of fibroids associated with menorrhagia results in reduction of menstrual bleeding.

Uterine MyomaThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the Pharmacokinetics and Safety / Tolerability of BR-UPS (Ulipristal acetate) 5 mg tablet with Inisia (Ulipristal acetate) 5 mg tablet in healthy female volunteers
Use of Dexamethasone in Uterine Artery Embolization
Uterine MyomaAdenomyosisThe primary purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of dexamethasone on inflammatory reactions after uterine artery embolization. The secondary purpose of this study it to investigate the effects of dexamethasone on postembolization syndrome (severe pain, nasea and vomiting).
