Efficacy of the Quell Wearable Device for Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia

This study is designed for patients with primary fibromyalgia (FM) pain. The overall aim of the study is to determine the effect of the high frequency Quell device to manage FM compared with a low frequency device. Investigators hypothesize that those assigned to using the high frequency Quell device will report reduced pain compared with those using the low frequency Quell device; with those using the high frequency device also showing more improvement in sleep, mood, and level of activity. Investigators also hypothesize that frequency of using the Quell (increased tolerability and adherence) will be correlated with greater reduction in pain.

Pain Neuroscience Education in Patients With Fibromyalgia

PainChronic1 more

Many patients with fibromyalgia have little understanding of their condition, leading to maladaptive pain cognitions and coping strategies. Current research has suggested the use of physiotherapy and rehabilitation in addition to cognitive patient education in the treatment of fibromyalgia syndrome. This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of pain neuroscience education in patients with fibromyalgia.

Effects of Nutritional Strategies or Manual Therapies in Women With Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia

The study had two objectives. The first main aim was to analyze the effects of tryptophan and magnesium-enriched Mediterranean diet on psychological variables (trait anxiety, self-image, mood state, eating disorders) and sleep effects in women with fibromyalgia. Our hypothesis, based on previous positive effects of tryptophan and magnesium supplementation by separate in this population, may improve psychological health and regulate sleep disruptions. The second aim was to assess the effectiveness of a manual therapy technique performed with moderate digital pressure in fibromyalgia patients on the variables of fatigue, pain, sleep, anxiety and mood. It was done to provide an alternative treatment to pharmacological therapies for fibromyalgia patients and to provide new evidence on the effects of manual therapy in fibromyalgia patients.
