Effect of Lidocaine Phonophoresis Versus Pulsed Ultrasound on Myofascial Pain Syndrome in Athletic...

Treatment Side Effects

A topical anesthetic gel lidocaine has been widely used as a local anesthetic to reduce the pain and discomfort. It provides local analgesia by blocking the initiation and transmission of impulses. Lidocaine topical anesthetic gel allows the use of high concentrations of the anesthetic bases without concern about local irritation, uneven absorption or systemic toxicity (Argoff, 2000 ). So, the aim of this study is to compare between the effect of lidocaine phonophoresis and pulsed ultrasound in myofascial pain syndrome in swimmers children.

The Efficiency of Dry Needling and Cold Spray-stretching Treatments

Myofascial Pain SyndromesMyofascial Trigger Point Pain

A prospective randomized single-blind study included 60 patients aged 18-65 years who have MPS with active triger points in the upper trapezius muscle. Patients were randomized into two treatment groups as dry needling (DN) and cold spray-stretching. Both treatment groups received 1 treatment per week and totally 3 sessions. Evaluation parameters were pain level assessed by visual analog scale (VAS) and algometer, neck range of motion angles, functional level assessed by neck disability index (NDI). The effects of the treatments on active trigger points were evaluated by sEMG and US histogram. All parameters were evaluated at the beginning of the treatment and after 3 sessions of treatment. Algometer and sEMG were performed also before and after the 1st and 3rd sessions.

Therapeutic Neuroscience Education in Individuals With Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Therapeutic Neuroscience Education (TNE) in individuals with Fibromyalgia (FM). The study included 25 females with FM, randomly separated into two groups as the intervention group (Clinical Pilates Exercises+TNE, n=11) and the control group (Clinical Pilates Exercises, n=14).

Prospective Study to Evaluate a Digital Regimen for Fibromyalgia Management

Fibromyalgia

PROSPER-FM is a multi-center, randomized, non-significant risk device study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of two digital therapy smartphone applications in participants with fibromyalgia. Eligible participants are randomized (1:1) to either the Digital Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Digital ACT) group or the Digital Symptom Tracker group and receive assigned therapy for 12 weeks.

Comparison of the Efficacy of Prolotherapy Injection Therapy & Local Anesthetic Injection Therapy....

Myofascial Pain Syndrome of Neck

Myofascial pain syndrome is a disease characterized by pain over the trigger point in a taut muscle band. After the correct diagnosis is made, many treatment methods can be applied. One of these treatments is the treatment with prolotherapy injection. Proliferant reveals defense mechanisms remove them and then start the healing process in the damaged area. Usually, dextrose water is used. Lidocaine is an anesthetic. With lidocaine injection, the passage of painful stimuli is prevented and the opioid system is activated. The aim of the study is to compare the efficacy of prolotherapy and lidocaine treatment in the myofascial pain syndrome.

Effect of Transcranial Static Magnetic Field Stimulation in Fibromyalgia Syndrome

Fibromyalgia

The main objective is to know if the transcranial static magnetic field stimulation (tSMS) reduces the perception of pain in patients with fibromyalgia and its effect on health-related quality of life. In addition, it will seek to limit the parameters necessary to achieve efficiency with the technique.

Fibromyalgia and Naltrexone: The FINAL Study

Fibromyalgia

This study evaluates the effect of low dose naltrexone (LDN) on pain in women with fibromyalgia (FM). The study is designed as a parallel randomized (1:1) double blind, placebo-controlled superiority trial. Half of the participants will receive treatment with LDN while the other half will receive treatment with placebo.
