Cow Milk AllergyFood Allergy

In this study, fecal and urine samples will be collected from children diagnosed with : IgE mediated cow's milk allergy, suspected of a cow's milk allergy, but with negative diagnosis IgE mediated food allergy other than cow's milk healthy brothers and sisters of the first three groups A subset of patients with IgE-mediated cow's milk allergy will be asked to provide a urine and fecal sample yearly for prognostic purposes. The samples will be analyzed using a technique called metabolomics to identify biomarker candidates with diagnostic and/or prognostic potential. Additionally, microbiome analysis will be performed to map the microbiome of all groups.

Treatment of Egg Allergy in Children Through Oral Desensitization (EGG OIT)

Food Hypersensitivity

The purpose of this study is to determine if children with egg allergy can be desensitized to egg protein and if this desensitization can help them outgrow their egg allergy at an earlier time than normal. Our hypothesis is that children with egg allergy can be orally desensitized to egg protein and that this desensitization will help them outgrow their egg allergy at an earlier time than normal.

Study Using Xolair in Rush Multi Oral Immunotherapy in Multi Food Allergic Patients

This is a pilot randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled study which will be conducted at a single center. All participants will receive oral immunotherapy for their specific food allergies (limited to 5 of those food allergens in IND 14831). In a 3:1 ratio, 36* participants will receive Xolair for 16 weeks while 12* will receive corresponding placebo instead of Xolair. 12 controls will be enrolled who will receive no OIT and no Xolair. These 12 controls are not part of the randomization. The total number of participants randomized to the two arms is 48*.

Peanut Reactivity Reduced by Oral Tolerance in an Anti-IgE Clinical Trial

The investigators will perform a double blind, placebo controlled clinical trial with Xolair (omalizumab) at four centers to safely and rapidly desensitize patients with severe peanut allergy. The investigators will determine if pretreatment with anti-IgE mAb (Xolair/omalizumab) can greatly reduce allergic reactions and allow for faster and safer desensitization.

The Effect of Per Oral Immunotherapy in Severe Milk, Peanut and Egg Allergy in Adults

The aim is to analyse the results of per oral immunotherapy treatment in severe milk, peanut or egg allergy in adults. This is the second part of the oral immunotherapy study in adults at Skin and Allergy Hospital. The diagnosis of food allergy is verified with positive history, skin prick tests, egg and milk allergen specific IgE (immunoglobulin E) antibodies. In addition, food allergy is verified with an open label (milk allergy) or blind (peanut and egg allergy) allergen specific challenge test. OIT (oral immunotherapy) is performed according to a detailed plan. Lung function parameters are followed before OIT and and a year after OIT.

There are currently no known therapies that can reliably prevent food-induced anaphylaxis. This is an open-label study designed to determine the ability acalabrutinib to prevent signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis during an oral food challenge in food-allergic adults.

The objective of this study is to compare the ocular response to CAC (using food allergen sensitive patients) to the systemic response of a previously performed oral food allergen challenge in the same subjects. This study will investigate the potential utility of CAC as a predictive tool for identifying patient response to food allergen challenge and maximum tolerated dose.

Food Challenge With Barley Starch as Active Comparator

Aim of the present study is to verify in a double-blind placebo controlled food challenge (DBPCFC) test that highly purified barley starch ingredient do not cause allergic reaction in subjects most potential to get allergic reaction due to ingredient. Hypothesis is that none of the cereal (mostly primarily wheat) allergic subject recruited to the study will obtain allergic reaction neither to placebo nor to the test ingredient. Scoring of symptoms during the challenges will be based on PRACTALL.
