Efficacy of Adipose Tissue Derived Stem Cells for the Treatment of Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Diabetic Foot UlcerDiabetes Mellitus9 moreThe aim of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of uncultured adipose derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) and cultured adipose derived stem cells (ASCs) both supplemented with platelet rich plasma (PRP) to treat chronic diabetic foot ulcers. It will increase the pragmatic potential of both types of cells as PRP is rich in survival and chemotactic factors. Moreover, the autologous nature of the proposed study will ensure safety of its use in diabetic patients and will unveil the more effective therapeutic option for treatment of foot ulcer wounds.
Trial to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of Treatment With COMS One Device in Subjects With...
Diabetic Foot UlcerThe purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the treatment with the COMS One device in subjects with refractory diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). The prospective randomized, double-blinded, sham-controlled trial is designed to demonstrate superiority of wound closure of the COMS One device to a sham-control device at 12 weeks post-application, when each is administered in conjunction with standard of care (SOC) in the treatment of DFUs.
A Study to Evaluate ENERGI-F703 GEL in Diabetic Foot Ulcer
Diabetic Foot UlcerFoot Ulcer2 moreThis Phase 3 study is a randomized, double-blind, vehicle-controlled, multiple-center, parallel study to evaluate efficacy and safety of ENERGI-F703 GEL compared with vehicle control in subjects with Wagner Grade 1 to Grade 2 diabetic foot ulcers. Baseline target ulcer size (<16 cm2 vs ≥16 cm2 ) will be included as a stratification factor. Subjects will be randomized 1:1 to receive ENERGI-F703 GEL or vehicle control using an interactive web response system for randomization to automatically assign a unique subject randomization number. Total duration of the study will be up to 31 weeks including Screening visit (approximately 2 to 3 weeks), double-blind dosing/observation phase (16 weeks), and a safety follow-up of 12 weeks after the last administration of study treatment.
Functional Ankle Taping Correction on Plantar Foot Ulcer Healing in Diabetic Patients
Foot UlcerThis study will investigate the effects of Functional ankle taping correction on plantar foot ulcer healing in diabetic patients. This study will be carried out at the outpatient clinic of the faculty of physical therapy, modern university for technology and information, Om El masryeen general Hospital and El Rahma - private clinic. All participants will sign a written consent form after receiving full information about the purpose of the study, procedure, possible benefits, privacy, and use of data.
Iontophoresis of Treprostinil to Enhance Wound Healing in Diabetic Foot Skin Ulcers
Diabetic Foot UlcerAssess the effect of iontophoresis of treprostinil on wound closure over 12 weeks, in patients with DFU. In the present study the investigators aim at establishing the proof-of-concept of iontophoresis of treprostinil as a potential treatment of diabetic foot ulcers in humans. The main hypothesis is that in patients with DFUs, the pharmacodynamic effect of a PGI2 analogue potentiates the effect of low-intensity current on microvascular function, tissue oxygenation and healing.
A Clinical Investigation Comparing the Clinical Performance and Cost Effectiveness of Biatain® Silicone...
Venous Leg UlcerDiabetic Foot UlcerA randomised controlled investigation comparing the clinical performance and cost effectiveness of Biatain® Silicone with Standard of Care dressing including filler in chronic wounds (CP351 - BISIL Study) This study (BISIL) will compare the Biatain® Silicone dressing to commonly used wound care products (AQUACEL®EXTRATM Hydrofiber® Dressing used with Mepilex® Border). The study will recruit in total 100 adult subjects with a venous leg ulcer or a diabetic foot ulcer no deeper than 2cm. Only ulcers with a duration of at least 8 weeks but no longer than a year will be included. The study will be a randomised controlled trial where half of the participants will use Biatain® Silicone and half will use the comparator for 4 weeks. Each participant will be in the study for 4-5 weeks during which there will be a weekly visit with the study team to complete the study assessments and change the dressing. The study will run for approximately one year, starting in January 2023.
Exercise Enhances Wound Healing in Patients With Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Diabetic Foot UlcerThe overarching purpose of this study is to investigate the impact that exercise, as delivered through a medically supervised, outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program, has on the wound healing process in Type 2 diabetics having foot ulcers classified as being Wound, Ischemia, foot Infection (WIfI) stage 2 or lower. The criterion reference measure of diabetic foot ulcer wound healing is be the time required to reach the maturation phase of the wound healing cascade (wound closure without drainage).
Quality of Life and Self-care in Patients With Diabetic Foot Ulcers Treated With Low-level Laser...
Diabetic Foot UlcerDiabetic FootDiabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are aggressive complications of diabetes mellitus (DM) and affect 25% of these patients. DFU are associated with a high risk of amputations and early mortality and significantly impact quality of life (QoL). The low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is an important approach for the treatment of DFU, however there is a lack of data on its influence on the QoL of patients with DFU. On the other hand, adherence to self-care is a factor closely related to QoL. Therefore, this study is justified by the need to understand the impact of LLLT on QoL and its relationship with self-care. Aim: To evaluate the quality of life of patients with diabetic foot ulcers treated with different doses of LLLT (GaAs) 904 nm and its association with aspects of adherence to self-care. Methods: This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. Participants will be randomly assigned to the groups: control LLLT placebo (CG), LLLT 904 nm 10 J/cm² (LG1), LLLT 904 nm 8 J/cm² (LG2) and LLLT 904 nm 4 J/cm² (LG3). QoL data, percentage of healing and pain will be assessed before the start of the intervention, in 10th week and after one month to the end of intervention, self-care will be assessed before the start of the intervention and at the end of intervention. Eighty participants with DFU will be recruited who will receive intervention twice a week for up to 20 visits (10 weeks).
A Clinical Investigation Evaluating Wound Closure With OptiPulse™ Versus SOC in the Treatment of...
Diabetic Foot UlcerThe purpose of this clinical investigation is to assess the safety and performance of Compedica's OptiPulse™ and to collect subject outcome data on the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU's) versus the standard of care (SOC). OptiPulse™ is designed to enhance blood circulation in the venules and arterioles. Fibracol Plus (or equivalent) is a collagen alginate dressing that is used as the primary dressing. Both products are 510(k) FDA cleared and will be used within the cleared intended use.
