The goal of this randomized crossover clinical trial is to examine the effectiveness of a new therapeutic exercise program in elderly patients with risk of falls and physical fragility. The main questions it aims to answer are: If the therapeutic exercise program proposed is a successful treatment for this kind of patients If patients at risk of falls also suffer from pre-frailty or frailty, and if they can be treated together with the proposed therapy. Participants will follow a program consisting of exercises to correct posture, gain strength and contribute to greater balance. Researchers will compare the therapy and control groups to see if the program increases the percentage of muscle mass of participants, their mobility, balance, quality of life and if they reduce their Fried´s frailty criteria, fear of falling and falls compared to their usual physical activity.

A Mouth Education Program for Dry Mouth

The goal of this cluster based intervention trial is to evaluate the effect of a nurse-led patient education program on dry mouth in patients with a life-limiting condition or frailty. The Mouth Educational Program (MEP) is a nurse-led patient education program, in which trained nurses use current clinical, palliative dry mouth guidelines in a structured manner to discuss causes, consequences and interventions with the patients and to create an appropriate treatment plan. This intervention will be compared to a control group receiving care as usual. Therefore, the main question it aims to answer is: Does a nurse-led patient education program reduce dry mouth complaints in patients with a life-limiting condition or frailty? Participants will be asked to answer questionnaires and, when part of the intervention group, partake in the Mouth Educational Program (MEP).

The goal of this phase I/II clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of intravenous infusion of human allogeneic bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cell product StromaForte in patients with aging frailty. The main questions it aims to answer are: To assess the safety and tolerability after 28 days of injection by reporting the number of adverse events assessed by Common Terminology Criteria For Adverse Events (CTCAE) Observe the change in inflammatory markers from baseline to 6 months (baseline to 28, 84, and 168 days post-infusion.) The primary objective of this single arm, prospective feasibility study, Impact of Frailty on Clinical Outcomes of Patients Treated for Thoracoabdominal and Complex Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms with Physician-Modified Fenestrated and Branched Stent Grafts, is to assess the use of the physician-modified fenestrated/branched endografts to repair thoracoabdominal and complex aortic aneurysms in subjects having appropriate anatomy, at high risks for open repairs. The primary intent of the study is to assess safety and preliminary effectiveness of the device acutely (i.e., treatment success and technical success), at 30 days (i.e., the rate of major adverse events (MAE)) and at 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, and annually to 5 years (i.e., the proportion of treatment group subjects that achieve and maintain treatment success). Additionally, this study will assess the degree of patient frailty before and after the aneurysm repair, as well as the association between the preoperative baseline frailty and clinical outcomes detailed above. This will help improve subject selection in identification of high risk patients who would not only suffer poor clinical outcomes, but also experience decline in their functional status.

Objectives: The main objective is to analyze the efficacy of an intervention based on the algorithm proposed by the Spanish Healtcare Ministry (see figure in annex 1) at Primary Care level to reduce Frailty status in community-dwelling older adults. Secondary objectives are: 1. To analyze if the intervention is cost-effective; 2. To analyze if the intervention reduces hospitalizations and emergency department visits, incident disability, falls, institutionalization, mortality, Primary Care visits and Drug use, and improves quality of life. MethodologOy: Multicentric Randomized Clinical Trial in 164 Prefrail or Frail community-dwelling women and men with an age equal or greater to 70 years, attended in selected Primary Care centers of Spain (Albacete, Oviedo, Getafe and Madrid). Randomization will be made by clusters, being every cluster a different Primary Care center in order to avoid contamination. Randomization on a 1:1 relationship between groups. The main outcome variable will be Frailty status change at one year follow-up measured with the Frailty Phenotype. All instrumentation will follow the guidelines of the Spanish Healthcare Ministry algorithm for frailty, and gait speed will be measured with the Walkway Speed-Age. Intervention will consist on a groupal multicomponent physical exercise program and a nutritional intervention. The exercise program and nutrition will be delivered by trained experts in groups of 6 participants, and will be based on the recommendations of the Spanish Healthcare Ministry document.

This is a single-blinded, randomized controlled trail with pre- and post-measurements. The inclusion criteria are: (1) age between 65 to 90 years old, (2) the presence of at least one of the 5 physical characteristics defined by Fried, (3) with mini-mental state examination (MMSE) score≧24 and Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) score < 26, and (4) ability to walk independently for 1 min without assistive devices. The exclusion criteria are: unstable physical condition, any neurological, psychiatric disorder, or diagnosed with learning disability which may affect participation in this study. Twenty-eight elderly will be recruited, and randomly assigned to one of two groups: square-stepping exercise (SSE) group (n=14) or control group (n=14). The intervention for both group will be 50 minutes per session, 3 sessions per week for 8 weeks. The primary outcomes include frailty status indicated by Fried frailty criteria, and global cognitive function indicated by MoCA score. Secondary outcomes include frailty and MCI reverse rate, attention and memory, executive function, physical performance, and brain activation.

The current study aims to determine the effect of a multidomain intervention (physical fitness, motivational and cognitive training) on body composition, sarcopenia, cardiovascular health, physical fitness, functional capacity, quality of life, frailty, emotional state and cognitive status in elderly participants, through a randomized controlled trial, to determine its suitability and recommend it as a preventive and health strategy for community-dwelling older adults.
