Restoring Central Motor Control Extension
GaitUnsteadyMotor skill training therapy aims to improve the brain's control of walking and can improve clinic-based measures of walking in older adults. However, it is unknown whether the benefits of motor skill training extend to real world mobility measures. The investigators will test the effects of motor skill training on measures of community mobility of older adults and assess the mechanisms through improved motor control at the level of the brain. These results will inform intervention approaches to maintain community mobility of older adults and prevent disability and institutionalization.

Duchenne Muscular DystrophyGait Disorders in Children2 moreThe aim of this study was to develop a gait assessment instrument for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy patients (DMD-GAS), and investigate its validity and reliability.The scale was developed considering the expert opinions which included 10 physiotherapists who had experience in the management of patients with DMD over the 2-round Delphi method, and the Content Validity Index (CVI) was calculated. The final version of the DMD-GAS that was agreed upon the experts consisted of 10 items, and each item scored between 0 and 2. The intra-rater reliability was established by the video analysis of children with a 1-month interval and inter-rater reliability was determined by the scores of 3 physiotherapists. The criterion validity was determined by investigating the relationship between the total score of the DMD-GAS and Motor Function Measure (MFM), 6 Minute Walk Test (6MWT), and the data obtained from GAITRite system.

StrokeGait Disorders1 moreThe aim of this study is to validate a smart insoles system in comparison to the gold-standard GaitRite for a pathologic gait. The device evaluate gait parameters in real time thanks to an embedded algorithm based on the processing of inertial measurement unit and 19 sensors signals. At D0 and D7, the patient is evaluated by both the GaitRite® system and the FeetMe Monitor® system simultaneously. Hemiparetic patients have two measurements 7 days apart. The patient repeats 5 trials at a comfortable speed on the GaitRite® mat while wearing the FeetMe® insoles. Each measurement is repeated by 4 different operators. A total of 20 trials are made by the patient.
