RISK FACTORS OF GALL BLADDER STONE

Gall Stone

Gallbladder disease is a significant health burden in the developed world and its prevalence has risen by more than 20% in the past three decades In the United States, 20-25 million individuals are affected by gallbladder disease, resulting in an average annual treatment cost of $6.2 billion Obesity, diet, rapid weight loss, metabolic syndrome, and conditions such as cirrhosis, Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and gallbladder stasis increase the risk of gallstone formation Surgical removal of the gallbladder, cholecystectomy, is the most recommended treatment for gallbladder disease; however, the procedure increases the risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cirrhosis and metabolic effects

Ambulatory SurgeryLaparoscopy7 more

Extended day surgery or 23 h surgery (23-hour surgery) is a surgical model where patients arrive to the hospital from home at the day of surgery, are operated and recover in a 23 h surgery unit. 23H surgery units are usually situated near postoperative recovery unit. THe 23 H surgical model was implemented in Kuopio University Hospital 2015 and between May 2017-May 2018 patients were recruited in the present prospective follow up cohort study. Silent Gallbladder Stone in Kidney Transplantation Recipients: Should it be Treated?

Gallbladder StonesKidney Transplantation

Treatment and follow-up strategies for silent gallbladder (GB) stones in patients before KT (Kidney transplantation) remain unknown. Therefore, we aimed to assess the risk of gallstone-related biliary complications and post-cholecystectomy complications in KT recipients, to elucidate the role of prophylactic cholecystectomy in this population.

Study of the Inflammatory Reaction in Standard vs Single Port Cholecystectomy for Uncomplicated...

CholelithiasisInflammatory Response

This is a study of the inflammatory reaction in standard 4 port laparoscopic cholecystectomy vs Single Port Laparoscopic (SIL) cholecystectomy. It is assumed that the reduced trauma in SIL Cholecystectomy causes reduced inflammatory reaction compared to the 4 port laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Laparoscopic Transvaginal Hybrid Cholecystectomy: a Prospective Data Collection.

CholecystolithiasisCholecystitis

Transvaginal hybrid procedures especially the transvaginal hybrid cholecystectomy are of interest as an available NOTES-Procedure for the clinical routine. Few authors have demonstrated the feasibility and safety in a selected patient collective. The aim of this prospective data collection is to evaluate the feasibility in the clinical routine in a non select patient collective. Therefore all patients giving the informed consent to the transvaginal hybrid cholecystectomy will be included and assessed concerning feasibility to perform the transvaginal approach and complete the operation transvaginally.
