Questionnaire Survey of the Advanced Training Program for Laparoscopic Radical Gastrectomy

Gastric Cancer

This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of the advanced training program for laparoscopic radical gastrectomy (ATP-LRG). The research subjects are the trainees who participated in this training program.

Learning Curve for Gastric Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection

Endoscopic Submucosal DissectionGastric Neoplasm

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for early gastric cancer is a widely accepted treatment option of expanded indication worldwide. ESD is relatively difficult compared with endoscopic mucosal resection, thus, proper training is essential for the safe performance of the procedure. Thus, it is necessary to receive proper training in the procedure for safe performance of ESD. Previous studies reported that there was a learning curve in ESD training and preceptees needed to perform at least 30-40 procedures in order to master this technique. However, there is few study about the association between the clinical characteristics and competence level for gastric ESD.

Predictive Factors of Morbidity and Mortality and Overall Survival of Patients With Gastric Cancer...

Gastric CancerMortality of Gastric Cancer1 more

This is a retrospective study extending over a period of three years concerning patients with gastric adenocarcinoma hospitalized in the digestive cancer surgery and liver transplant service of the IBN ROCHD University Hospital Center in Casablanca. Evaluation from a series of 80 cases of gastric adenocarcinomas, follow-up to determine the prognostic factors influencing mortality, morbidity and survival.

Radiomics-based Models for the Prediction of Pathological Response to Neoadjuvant Therapy in Gastric...

Patients With Locally Advanced Carcinoma of the Stomach and Oesophagogastric Junction

Identifying predictors of response to neoadjuvant therapy in gastric and gastro-oesophageal cancer early in the history of the disease would ensure optimal treatment planning. The study aims to apply radiomics for the prediction of response to neoadjuvant therapy.

Research for Associated Genes for Gastric Cancer in Family Member With Affected First-Degree Relatives...

Gastric CancerGenetic Predisposition

Familial gastric cancer accounts for 10% of all cases, but predisposing genetic variations is unknown except for CDH1 mutation. Because Germline mutation is believed to be a key aspect of cancer predisposition, we plan to recruit persons with 2 or more affected family members in three-generation pedigree. The investigators will perform a whole-exome sequencing using DNA from blood samples of families including gastric cancer patients and non-gastric cancer patients

Omentectomy in Radical Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer Trial

OmentumStomach Neoplasms

In patients with gastric cancer, traditionally a complete omentectomy is performed as part of a radical gastrectomy with a modified D2 lymph node dissection. The omentectomy increases operation time significantly, especially in laparoscopic procedures. Patients remain more vulnerable for peritoneal infections and intestinal adhesions following omentectomy. Furthermore one can debate whether a complete omentectomy is indicated from an oncologic viewpoint. In the present study we prospectively evaluated the presence of tumor load in the greater omentum of patients with potentially curative gastric cancer.

Perceptions of Exceptional Patients in Cancer Care Relating to Their Unusual Survival

Pancreatic CancerLung Cancer2 more

The main objective of this study is to explore experiences and insights from exceptional patients, patients with cancer that were considered by their physicians as having exceptional course of survival related to their specific disease state. A secondary future objective of this study is to develop an international multicenter registry and database documenting and examining the experience of patients with cancer that were considered by their physicians as having exceptional course of survival related to their specific disease state.

EUFURO - EUS-based Follow-Up on R0-resected Patients for Esophageal, Gastric and Pancreatic Cancer...

Esophageal CancerStomach Cancer1 more

Follow-up after successful operative treatment of cancer in the esophagus, stomach or pancreas in order to detect recurrent disease is a controversial topic. This is because the methods and the consequence of following these patients is unknown. Therefore the investigators will randomize these patients in to two groups: One group of patients will be offered visits with a specialist surgeon in a outpatient setting for a clinical evaluation every 3,6,9,12,18 and 24 months after surgery, as is the current standard at our department. The other group will be offered Endoscopic UltraSound, EUS, and PET/CT with the same intervals as the first group.
