Adjuvant PIPAC in Gastric Cancer Patients
Gastric AdenocarcinomaGastric CancerIn this study patients will be offered intraperitoneal atomized chemotherapy as a supplement to the standard treatment of high-risk gastric cancer (laparoscopic removal of the stomach). Two commercially available oncologic drugs will be used (doxorubicin and cisplatin).
Comparison of the Effects of Continuous Epidural Analgesia and Continuous Intravenous Analgesia...
Gastric CancerThe investigators hypothesized that sympatholytic effect of epidural analgesia would attenuate the hemodynamic instability and decrease in the splanchnic blood flow caused by pneumoperitoneum during laparoscopic surgery. This study is to compare the effect of epidural analgesia and intravenous analgesia on postoperative bowel movement in patients undergoing laparoscopic gastrectomy.
Food Intake and Gut Hormones in Patients Who Have Undergone Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery for Cancer...
Esophageal NeoplasmsStomach Neoplasms2 moreImprovements to treatment strategies for patients upper gastrointestinal cancers have produced an increasing population of people who remain free from disease recurrence in the long term. Weight loss and nutritional problems are common among patients who attain long-term remission and cure after surgery for upper gastrointestinal cancers. However, the mechanisms underlying these problems are not well understood. In this study the investigators aim to determine whether reduced food intake after upper gastrointestinal surgery is caused by early satiety related to exaggerated post-prandial gut hormone responses. This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, crossover study of the effect of 100μg octreotide SC on ad libitum food intake in patients free from complications or recurrence at least one year post-oesophagectomy, gastrectomy or pancreaticoduodenectomy. A comparator group of age, weight and gender matched subjects will be studied concurrently, and caloric intake and subjective symptom scores after administration of octreotide versus placebo among surgical and comparator subjects will be assessed.
A Clinical Trial Evaluating the Effect of ASLAN001 in Patients With Recurrent/Metastatic Gastric...
Stomach NeoplasmsCancer of Stomach3 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine whether ASLAN001 has an effect in patients with recurrent or metastatic adenocarcinoma of the stomach, gastrooesophageal junction, or lower third of the oesophagus whose tumours over-express HER-1 and HER-2, or whose tumours are HER-2 gene-amplified. Maximum of 26 patients will participate in South Korea and the patients will be assigned to either group A or group B according to the results of tests done on tumor tissue obtained by biopsy to determine HER-1 and HER-2 status.
The Effects of Intraoperative Dexmedetomidine Infusion on Postoperative Bowel Movement in Patients...
Gastric Cancer Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic GastrectomyThe investigators hypothesized that sympatholytic effect of dexmedetomidine would attenuate the hemodynamic instability and decrease in the splanchnic blood flow caused by pneumoperitoneum during laparoscopic surgery. This study is to investigate the effect of intraoperative dexmedetomidine infusion on postoperative bowel movement in patients undergoing laparoscopic gastrectomy.

Gastric CancerThe purpose of this study is to to investigate the feasibility and safety of fast-track surgery when combined with laparoscopic-assisted gastrectomy for advanced gastric cancer patients.
Phase Ib, Dose Escalation Study of Oral LDE225 in Combination With BKM120 in Patients With Advanced...
Dose EscalationSafety11 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine the maximum dose of LDE225 and BKM120 that can be safely given together to patients and/or the dose that will be used in future studies. This study will also learn more about how the combination of these two investigational drugs may work for patients with certain cancers (specifically metastatic breast cancer, advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma, metastatic colorectal cancer and recurrent glioblastoma multiforme).
