Waist Circumference Versus Body Mass Index to Predict Severity of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease...
Gastroesophageal Reflux DiseaseObesityGastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common and important disorder. Previous studies have demonstrated the association of obesity with GERD, and now obesity is regarded as a risk factor for GERD. Moreover, body mass index (BMI), an indicator of general obesity, correlates with severity of symptoms and degree of erosive esophagitis. Waist circumference, an indicator of abdominal obesity, has stronger correlation with intra-abdominal pressure and low-grade inflammatory state when compared with BMI. Nevertheless the association of waist circumference with severity of GERD has not been studied. The primary aim of this study is to compare BMI with waist circumference for their independent association with severity of GERD. The secondary aim is to evaluate independent risk factors of severity of GERD.
Prevalence of Gastroesophageal Reflux During Childhood and Teenage Years in France
Gastroesophageal RefluxThe purpose of this study is to assess prevalence of gastrooesophageal reflux during childhood and teenage years in France and to describe patients'symptoms and gastrooesophageal reflux management
Determination of Voiding Patterns of Children With Vesicoureteral Reflux
Vesicoureteral RefluxDetermine if the pattern of voiding differs in children with vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) compared to those who do not have VUR.
Structured Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux in a Company Health Care Setting, -Effect on Quality...
GERDThe study aims to evaluate if a GERD treatment programme, in accordance with current regional recommendations, in a company health care setting, has an impact on health related quality of life (HRQoL), symptoms, and productivity in GERD patients.
Confocal Laser Microscopy in Non Erosive Reflux Disease
Acid Reflux DiseaseHeartburnHeartburn or reflux disease affects about 20% of Americans. 50 - 70% of people who have endoscopy for reflux disease have a normal appearing esophagus. Confocal Laser Microscopy allows us to see changes in the cells not visable during routine endoscopy. Whe goal of this study is to identify the use of this new technique in diagnosing reflux in patients who have normal appearing esophagus.
Prevalence of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease in Primary Care Patients With Upper Gastrointestinal...
Gastroesophageal Reflux DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to provide data on the gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) prevalence as percentage of patients with upper gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms that are identified with GERD using the Gerd-Q Questionnaire.
Partial Response to Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI) Treatment: The Cost to Society and the Burden to...
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)The purpose of this study is to describe common treatment pathways, to collect health care utilization data and to assess symptom load as well as impact of symptoms on daily life in GERD patients who are partial-responders to PPI treatment.
PPI Therapy Impact on GERD After Sleeve Gastrectomy
Gastro Esophageal RefluxBarrett Esophagus1 moreThe trial would to try to establish: The best post-operative PPI prescription protocol after Sleeve Gastrectomy The impact of PPI therapy on postoperative peptic diseases (erosive gastropathies, ulcers, duodenitis, esophagitis and/or Barrett) The impact of PPI therapy on post-operative GERD symptoms (assessed with the use of two standard tests: MRGE-HRQL and GERDQ
Near Focus NBI-Driven Artificial Intelligence for the Diagnosis of Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease...
Gastro Esophageal RefluxGastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) is a chronic condition with symptoms arising secondary to the reflux of stomach contents (Vakil et al., 2006). It is divided into four phenotypes: Erosive Oesophagitis (EO), Non-Erosive Reflux Disease (NERD), Reflux Hypersensitivity (RH), Functional Heartburn (FH) (Nikaki, Woodland and Sifrim, 2016). The definition of these phenotype have evolved with the addition of diagnostic tests and methods of their interpretation, the most recent being the Lyon Consensus Statement (Gyawali et al., 2018). The majority of patients presenting with symptoms suggestive of GORD have no mucosal lesion seen at endoscopy (Nikaki, Woodland and Sifrim, 2016). Studies have shown a relation of increased IPCL numbers with GORD. This study aims to build a fully autmoated AI model using Near-Focus NBI images on patients with symptoms suggestive of GORD phenotyped in accordance with the Lyon Consensus.
Suspicion of Non IgE-mediated Cow's Milk Protein Allergy: Prevalence and Evolution
Food Allergy in InfantsProctocolitis4 moreCow's milk protein allergy (CMPA) is often evoked in infants, in particular in front of delayed symptoms such as rectal bleeding, atopic dermatitis, excessive crying, reflux, failure to thrive... But in case of non IgE-mediated CMPA, the only way to diagnose this allergy is to proceed to an elimination-reintroduction test over a period of 2 to 4 weeks, to improve symptoms first, and then provoke them. Even if the diagnosis is confirmed, we speculate that non IgE-mediated CMPA has a faster resolution than other CMPA. The first aim of this study is to estimate the prevalence of non IgE-mediated CMPA in a cohort of infants with delayed symptoms which could be relied to a CMPA. The second goal is evaluate the age of tolerance in non IgE-mediated CMPA with oral food challenge for milk ever 2 months after 4 months of age.
