KDR2-2 Suspension Eyedrop in the Treatment of Neovascular Glaucoma (KDR-NVG) Trial
Neovascular GlaucomaNeovascularizationThe clinical trial is aimed to evaluate the anti-neovascular effect of KDR2-2 suspension eyedrop in the treatment of neovascular glaucoma. Fourty subjects would receive either 0.96 or 3.84 mg/per day/eye, in a QID fashion, ×7 days (those without complications can continue to 28 days). The anti-neovascular effect of KDR2-2 on iris neovascularization would be evaluated at day 1, day 7, day 14, day 28 after KDR2-2 usage.

Neovascular GlaucomaThis is a prospective, observational, multi-center and post-authorization safety study that includes patients with a diagnosis of Neovascular Glaucoma. The investigator will have made the decision to use Eylea for treatment. The objective of this study is to assess safety and effectiveness of Eylea using in real clinical practice. Patients will be followed for a time period of 6 months from start of Eylea treatment or until it is no longer possible (e.g. lost to follow-up). In total, 480 patients will be recruited. For each patient, data are collected as defined in the electronic case report form (eCRF) at the initial visit, follow-up visit and final visit, either by routine clinical visits (as per investigators routine practice).

Ocular MelanomaThe reference treatment of ocular melanoma is a conservative treatment by proton therapy. Its goal is to treat the tumor while preserving the eyeball and visual acuity. However, ablation of the eyeball is sometimes necessary after proton therapy in the case of neovascular glaucoma. This complication occurs in 7 to 47% of cases (depending on the size of the tumor) and is associated with hypersecretion of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) related to necrotic and inflammatory tumor tissue after proton therapy or ischemic retina. The intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF are used in the treatment of neovascular radicular glaucoma without avoiding enucleation in all cases. The investigators propose to study the prevention of neovascular glaucoma by intravitreal prophylactic administration of anti-VEGF.

Neovascular GlaucomaNeovascular glaucoma is a common and severe type of secondary closed-angle glaucoma. Topical treatments have variable effects and unfortunately often require surgery to control IOP. Although Glaucoma Drainage Device (GDD) such as Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV) are a surgical choice in these patients, their effectiveness decreases over time. One of the main causes of failure in AGV surgery is the formation of scar tissue and fibrosis around the shunt plate. So, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of using MMC Intraoperative and 5FU Postoperative with AGV surgery in neovascular glaucoma patients according to a specific protocol, on the incidence of Hypertensive Phase (HP) and surgical success rate.

Neovascular GlaucomaRubeosisProliferative ischemic retinopathies lead to a formation of abnormal vessels on the iris surface induced by an increased level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). In progressive stages fibrovascular membranes occlude the anterior chamber angle which inhibits aqueous outflow resulting in neovascular glaucoma. The increased intraocular pressure is often difficult to control and frequently results in loss of vision. The aim of this study is to analyze the short- and long-term outcome after adjuvant intraocular Ranibizumab application in patients with neovascular glaucoma and rubeosis and to analyze the role of ranibizumab within a holistic treatment regime.
Intravitreal Bevacizumab for Neovascular Glaucoma
NeovascularGlaucomaSeveral studies have confirmed high levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in eyes with neovascular glaucoma (NVG). The role of VEGF inhibitors in regression of other neovascular disorders such as wet-type age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema has been described. We aim to evaluate the effect of three intravitreal injections of bevacizumab (Avastin) 2.5 mg versus a sham procedure for treatment of NVG. Outcome measures include intraocular pressure and extent of iris neovascularization. Both study arms will receive conventional treatment for NVG.
