This is an observations study evaluating safety and efficacy of immunoadsorption compared to plasma exchange in Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

The purpose of this study is to determine if peripheral nerve ultrasound can be used as a supplemental tool to diagnose Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) in the acute setting and aid in prognostication.

The nodes of Ranvier contain ion channels that enable the rapid propagation of the nerve impulse. Cell adhesion molecules and glycolipids play an important role in the formation of the nodes of Ranvier. Antibodies against glycolipids are detected in half of patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an acute inflammatory neuropathy affecting peripheral nerve. The investigators found that antibodies target cell adhesion molecules at nodes of Ranvier in 10% of patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating neuropathy (CIDP), another disabling neuromuscular disease affecting peripheral nerves. In the majority of patients with GBS or CIDP, the mechanisms responsible for the neuromuscular disorders are unknown. Our goals are to identify novel targets of antibodies in patients, this in order to find novel bio-markers and to better understand the physiopathology of inflammatory neuropathies. This work will help patient diagnosis and treatment orientation.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the accessibility of beauty products for individuals with upper extremity disabilities. By examining various factors such as packaging design, product applicators, and ease of use, this research aims to identify barriers faced by individuals with upper extremity disabilities or visual deficits when using beauty products. The study seeks to provide insights and recommendations for improving the accessibility of beauty products, ultimately promoting inclusivity and enhancing the overall beauty experience for individuals with disabilities.

The aim of this retrospective observational single-center cohort study is to gain a deeper understanding regarding the frequency, the clinical and electrophysiologic characteristics (e.g., the diagnostic work up), complications, treatment regimes, and their associations with specific courses of disease and outcomes in adult patients with the suspected or proven diagnosis of GBS.

The goal of this observational study is to explore significant indicators to predict the early prognosis and late prognosis in patients with Guillain-Barre syndrome.

OBJECTIVES: I. Compare the efficacy of plasmapheresis and human immunoglobulin infusion in minimizing morbidity and augmenting the pace of recovery in children with Guillain-Barre syndrome. II. Compare the potential risks, in terms of treatment related side effects and adverse clinical outcome, between these two treatment modalities.

International GBS Outcome Study (IGOS) is a study conducted by the members of the Inflammatory Neuropathy Consortium (INC) and Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) on disease course and outcome in Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). The IGOS aims to identify clinical and biological determinants and predictors of disease course and outcome in individual patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome, as early as possible after onset of disease.

This study investigates the effects of Robotic-assisted gait training in non-ambulatory patients after Guillain-Barré syndrome.The participants are randomly divided into two groups.Patients of the treatment group receive robotic-assisted gait training,while the contorls receive conventional rehabilitation.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the value of steroids in the treatment of vestibular neuronitis. The potential benefits of steroid therapy would be analyzed by the clinical response, self-perceived handicap and laboratory parameters.
