Tissue and Hematopoietic/Mesenchymal Stem Cell for Humanized Xenograft Studies in Melanoma and Squamous...
Malignant MelanomaHead and Neck CancerThe overall goal of this study is to develop a pre-clinical platform of melanoma and head and neck squamous cell cancer that will allow the investigators to learn more about these diseases and discover better and more individualized treatments.
Body Image After Head and Neck Cancer Treatment
Head and Neck CancerThis is a pilot study of the Body Image after Head and Neck Cancer Treatment Program [BIHNC]. It is a six-week, psychoeducational, web-based program that includes e-learning didactic modules and personal reflection activities for participants to complete.
Manual Therapy in Treating Fibrosis-Related Late Effect Dysphagia in Head and Neck Cancer Survivors...
Cancer SurvivorDysphagia2 moreThis trial studies how well manual therapy works in treating fibrosis-related late effect dysphagia in head and neck cancer survivors. Manual therapy is the use of massage and stretching exercises to increase blood flow and muscle movement in the neck, throat, jaw, and mouth, which may help to improve swallowing ability and range of motion in participants who have had treatment for head and neck cancer.
3D Printed Oral Stents for Patients With Head and Neck Cancer Receiving Radiation Therapy
Malignant Head and Neck NeoplasmThis trial studies how a customized 3D-printed oral stent compares to a standard stent made by a dentist for use in imaging scans in patients with head and neck cancer receiving radiation therapy. Oral stents are designed to help prevent radiation-related side effects while receiving radiation therapy. Traditional oral stents are created by dentists, require at least 2 separate appointments, and may not be as cost-effective. A customized, 3D-printed oral stent may perform as well as a standard stent made by a dentist and have a significantly shorter turnaround to device delivery.
Neurofeedback in Decreasing Acute Radiotherapy-Induced Pain in Patients With Head and Neck Cancer...
Head and Neck CarcinomaThis pilot trial studies how well neurofeedback training works in decreasing acute radiotherapy-induced pain in patients with head and neck cancer. Neurofeedback training is a type of therapy that uses electroencephalograph and a computer software program to measure brain wave activity. Neurofeedback training may help teach patients ways to modify their own brain waves to decrease the perception of pain and improve quality of life.
Palliative Expeditiously Adaptive Quad Shot Radiation Therapy (PEAQ-RT)
Head and Neck CancerThe investigators propose evaluating the feasibility of using the novel cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)-guided Ethos system to deliver expedited, adaptive Quad shot radiation for the purpose of palliative radiation of patients with advanced head and neck cancers or patients with a history of any malignancy experiencing current head and neck lesions. Quad shot radiation was selected as the palliative regimen of choice given its low toxicity profile, well published efficacy in palliation, frequent usage in the US for palliation of head and neck cancers, and safety in the setting of re-irradiation. The use of the Ethos platform to perform online adaptive radiation planning and delivery remains novel and untested. The Ethos system would be used to consolidate CT simulation, replanning, and treatment for Quad shot patients receiving treatment with the benefit of reduced patient travel and a reduction in the unwanted delay between Quad shot cycles. The goal of this pilot study will be to evaluate the feasibility of the Ethos system to eliminate the need for a CT simulation for cycles 2 and 3 of Quad shot radiation.
A Phase 2a, Single-dose, Open-label Study to Evaluate Diagnostic Performance and Safety of Pegsitacianine,...
Head and Neck CancerUnknown Primary Cancer1 moreThis is a non-randomized, open-label, single-center, safety and imaging feasibility study of Pegsitacianine, an intraoperative fluorescence imaging agent.
Candida Therapeutic Vaccine in Head and Neck Cancer Patients to Reduce Recurrence
Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and NeckThis is a Phase II randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, multi-site study of Candin. It is designed to show the efficacy and safety of a 7-dose regimen of Candin over a two-year period in terms of reducing cancer recurrence rate by comparing the recurrence rates between the Candin and the placebo arm. The ratio of the number of subjects who will receive Candin versus placebo will be 3:1. Up to 100 subjects will be screened until 68 subjects are eligible for injection.
The Hypotension Prediction Index in Free Flap Transplant in Head and Neck Surgery.
HypotensionHead and Neck Cancer2 moreThe aim of the current study is to evaluate the effects of the Hypotension Prediction Index (HPI) on the degree of intraoperative hypotension in patients undergoing free flap surgery. The hypothesis is that implementation of the HPI algorithm will reduce the time-weighted average (TWA) intraoperative hypotension below a threshold of 65 mmHg (16), and to reveal the relationship between the episodes of hypotension and free flap viability and function.
A New Delineation Approach for Oral Cavity, Oropharynx, Larynx and Hypopharynx in IMRT for Head...
Head and Neck CancerThe investigators tries a new method to delineating the oral cavity, oropharynx, larynx and hypopharynx, and use the head-and-neck region to test whether the method can to create a good IMRT plan, and alleviate the oral radiation injury, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
