2 Phase Use Of Educational Materials In Head And Neck Cancer Center
Head and Neck CancerThe goal of this study is to assess the experience of our patients with head and neck cancer in regard to the information they receive, their symptoms, and their understanding of their diagnosis, to determine ways to improve upon these aspects of patient care in the future.

Remote Activity Monitored by Fitbit Charge 3 in Investigating Daily Step and Sleep Data in Participants...
Head and Neck CarcinomaThis pilot trial studies remote activity monitored by Fitbit Charge 3 in investigating daily step and sleep data in participants with head and neck cancer who are undergoing radiation therapy. A wearable remote activity tracking device, such as the Fitbit Charge 3, may help to detect early signs of treatment or disease-related symptoms, improve quality of life, decrease emergency room visits, and decrease hospitalizations in participants with head and neck cancer.

Study of Personalized Sterile Humidification Device for Mucositis in Head and Neck Cancer Patients...
Head and Neck CancerThis is a single arm study of the use of a personalized sterile humidification device for 12 weeks for head and neck cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy to determine if the usage of this humidification system will result in a decrease in severity in head and neck related quality of life as measured by the MDASI HN subscale following radiation therapy as compared with historical experience. In addition, we are exploring correlative measures using CRP, IL-1, IL-6, and TNF-alpha level measurements as these are directly related to mucositis and presumably related to quality of life as indicated by the patient.
Lymph Node Assessment Using Simultaneous 18F-FDG-PET and MRI
Head and Neck CancerThe overarching goal of this study is to develop PET/MR techniques to accurately detect nodal metastases for surgical planning and assessment of treatment response.
Autofluorescence Detection of Oral Malignancies and Database and Biospecimen Collection to Identify...
Oral CancerThis research may help dentists or surgeons to better detect areas in the mouth that are either prone to cancer or are early cancers. The earlier the detection on cancer in the mouth, the better the chance that treatment or prevention can be more effective.

FDG-PET/CT in Assessing the Tumor and Planning Neck Surgery in Patients With Newly Diagnosed H&N...
Head and Neck CancerRATIONALE: Diagnostic procedures, such as fludeoxyglucose F 18-PET/CT scan, may help doctors find head and neck cancer and find out how far the disease has spread. It may also help doctors plan the best treatment. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying fludeoxyglucose F 18-PET/CT imaging to see how well it works in assessing the tumor and planning neck surgery in patients with newly diagnosed head and neck cancer.
