Can Targeted Education Impact the Current Standard of Care in Patients With Mild Traumatic Brain...

The study will ask the question as to whether or not it is possible to deliver education material to patients with a mild traumatic brain injury in a consistent matter. The question will be asked as to whether an educational intervention decreases symptom reporting specifically looking at headache symptoms. Half of the patients will receive the current standard of care in the tertiary clinic they have been referred to while the other half will also receive the current standard of care with the addition of targeted headache educational material at various time points.

The investigators prospectively want to use the Infrascanner in patients with ischemic stroke, patients with brain surgery, patients with brain tumors, patients with intracranial hemorrhage and patients with a normal CT scan of the brain as part of a diagnostic work-up after head trauma or headache to determine to positive and negative predictive value of the Infrascanner in these different settings.

This is a prospective study for abdominal myomectomies performed from June 2012 to June 2019 by a single surgeon in a tertiary care referral hospital. Large uterine myoma was defined as the estimated diameter of dominant myoma equal to or larger than 10 cm by sonography. Demographics, diagnosis, perioperative variables, operative outcomes and complications were recorded. The Intraoperative anesthetic management, blood and blood products transfusion, and total volume of blood loss, as well as postoperative follow-up, were reviewed for each patient.

Onabotulinum Dose Comparison in Chronic Migraine Superior to 100 Units?

The study will enroll patients through the Neurology Department at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). Eligible participants will meet criteria for chronic migraine, but will not be excluded based on the presence of significant comorbidities. Participants with comorbidities and medication regimens commonly exhibited within real-world DOD medical settings will not be excluded, such as pain disorders, psychiatric illness, medication overuse, and those who have used prophylactic medication during the baseline period. This will comprise "Group A". A carefully screened group will comprise "Group B" and meet exclusion criteria designed to approximate that of the PREEMPT2 trial. Within each group, half of the patients (155U Arm) will be randomly selected to receive the standard 155U over 31 fixed sites every 12 weeks while the other half (100U Arm) will receive 100U over 19 fixed sites every 12 weeks. Minimum sample size for the entire cohort is 132 participants (maximum n = 180), with a minimum of 66 participants per comparison.

Participants in the experimental group will receive a treatment based on suboccipital inhibition technique in addition to conventional treatment. Participants in the control group will only receive the conventional treatment. The existence of significant differences in both groups will be analyzed.
