Exercise Training and Testosterone Replacement in Heart Failure Patients

Heart Failure

The purpose of this study is to determine if exercise training with or without testosterone replacement can improve cardiopathy in heart failure patients

Sildenafil Impact on Ventricular Function in Patients With Heart Failure

Heart Failure

Twenty-four patients with known heart failure will be recruited. They will undergo a cardiac magnetic resonance for ventricular analyses and after this first exam they will be randomized to placebo or Sildenafil. After one hour drug intake they will undergo another cardiac magnetic resonance to evaluate the drug impact on right and left ventricular function.

Quartet™ Bad Oeynhausen Trial

Congestive Heart FailureCardiac Resynchronization Therapy

Primary objective of this study is to evaluate whether the use of a quadripolar left ventricular (LV) electrode compared to a standard bipolar LV electrode leads to lower non-responder rates in patients undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT)

Influenza Vaccine To Prevent Adverse Vascular Events:Pilot

Heart Failure

A multi-centre, randomized, placebo controlled, trial. Participants at high-risk for vascular events from the network of INTER- CHF will be randomized to inactivated influenza vaccine or placebo and followed prospectively over three influenza seasons. 600 participants will be enrolled prior to influenza season and randomized to either influenza vaccine or saline placebo.

A Pilot Study of Dietary Chloride Supplementation on Cardiorenal Function in Heart Failure

Heart Failure

The purpose of this study is to determine if administration of supplemental chloride in the form of lysine chloride to patients with congestive heart failure will affect their neurohormonal profile as well as response to diuretics.

HW006 LATERAL Thoracotomy

Left Sided Heart Failure

This is a prospective, multi-center,single-arm study that will evaluate the thoracotomy implant technique in up to 145 subjects implanted via thoracotomy with the HeartWare HVAD System and enrolled in the Interagency Registry for Mechanically Assisted Circulatory Support (Intermacs®) protocol and database. All participating centers are current INTERMACS® sites in good standing and follow the INTERMACS® protocol and procedures.

Incidence of Significant Mitral Regurgitation in Acute Heart Failure Patients

Acute Heart FailureMitral Regurgitation

The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of moderate-to-severe Mitral Regurgitation (MR) in acute Heart Failure (HF) patients requiring hospital admission.

Effect of Elamipretide on Left Ventricular Function in Subjects With Stable Heart Failure With Reduced...

Heart Failure

This was a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, multiple-dose study in subjects with stable heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

Noninvasive Ventilation and Thoracic-abdominal Kinematics in Heart Failure Patients

Heart Failure

Introduction: Noninvasive ventilation (NIV) has been used to minimize such impairment and increasing ventilator reserve in individuals with heart failure. Aim: To analyze thoracoabdominal kinematics (TK) in individuals with HF associated to cardiomegaly after using NIV. Methods: A randomized crossover clinical trial with allocation consisted of two experimental phases: NIV and control, 7 days apart of each other. During NIV phase, 30 minutes of bi-level ventilation was performed. Any type of ventilator support was offered during control phase. Optoeletronic plethismography was performed to asses TK.
