DARTS I Feasibility Study

Aortic DissectionIntramural Hematoma

The objective of this study is to investigate the feasibility and clinical benefits of the AMDS to treat patients with acute DeBakey type I dissections and/or intramural hematomas (IMH) involving the ascending aorta and aortic arch through open surgical repair.

Chronic Subdural Hematoma

FINISH-trial is a prospective, randomized, controlled, parallel group non-inferiority trial comparing single burr-hole evacuation of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) with intraoperative irrigation (IR) and evacuation of CSDH without irrigation (N-IR).

Subdural HematomaNon-acute

MAGIC-MT study is multi-center, prospective, randomized (1:1) controlled trial designed to show that additional MMA embolization with Onyx in patients with non-acute symptomatic subdural hematoma(SDH) results in reduced hematoma recurrence in surgically treated patients/ reduced hematoma progression in conservatively managed patients.

Preventing Recurrences of Chronic Subdural Hematoma in Adult Patients by Middle Meningeal Artery...

HematomaSubdural1 more

Patients with a chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH), that is, a blood accumulation between two meninges developing over a long period of time, often have recurrent bleedings after an initial operation. The study aims to show that additional surgery reduces the risk of recurrent bleeding. The additional procedure aims to block small blood vessels in the skull with tiny plastic particles. The small blood vessels are embolized using X-rays and a contrast medium and a fine tube that is inserted into the diseased vessels of the head via the groin. Patients of full age who have undergone burr hole trepanation as a first operation, i.e. a blood drain through a hole in the cranial cavity, can participate in the study. Participating patients are randomly assigned to a control group with treatment according to clinical routine or a treatment group with an additional occlusion of the blood vessels in the skull. In addition, patients can consent to a genetic test to determine the relationship between a coagulation factor and the risk of recurrence of the hematoma. In order to record the test results, check-up examinations are carried out after one and three months.

Augmented Reality for Subdural Drain Placement

Subdural Hematoma

This study involves using a augmented reality (AR) system to assist in the placement of a subdural evacuating portal system (SEPS). In the first part of the study, all participants will have skin marking of an AR-guided and non-AR-guided site to determine feasibility and method accuracy. In the second part, subjects will be randomized to AR-guided and non-AR-guided SEPS placement to determine efficacy.

ENDOBARC-S Study: "Endovascular Branched Stent-grafts for Aortic ARCh Pathologies in Spain"

Thoracic Aortic AneurysmThoracic Aortic Dissection6 more

The ENDOBARC-S post-market clinical follow-up study is undertaken to evaluate the prevention of death related to aortic arch pathologies when treated by branch stent graft systems (Nexus stent-graft system®, Relay Branch® or Zenith arch branch graft®), with proximal landing at zone 0. The secondary objective is to evaluate the safety and clinical performance of the studied devices.

Modalities And Safety Of Cardiac Rehabilitation In A Population Managed For Spontaneous Hematoma...

Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Following the Management of ACS in Patients Presenting With SCAD

Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a rare and often misdiagnosed cause of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) affecting predominantly young women without cardiovascular risk factors. There is no definitive evidence on the optimal management of SCAD, but the general approach is conservative. Unlike established evidence-based rehabilitation programs for ACS and heart failure, no cardiac rehabilitation protocol exists for SCAD. The aim of the study is to report and detail the cardiac rehabilitation program which was proposed to patients previously included in The Study of the Prevalence Fibromuscular Dysplasia in Patient With Haematoma or Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection. (DISCO trial - NCT02799186).

High Concentration Oxygen Therapy for Pneumocephalus in Chronic Subdural Haematoma: A Prospective...

Chronic Subdural Hematoma

Normobaric oxygen therapy was shown to be effective in reducing post craniotomy pneumocephalus. Theoretical assessment of normobaric oxygen therapy in treating pneumocephalus has shown that a higher level of oxygen concentration will significantly decrease the time for absorption of pneumocephalus. The therapeutic efficacy is not fully established in patients with chronic subdural hematoma after burr hole drainage. Both radiological outcomes and clinical outcomes would be evaluated.
