Chinese Medicine Periodic Therapy for Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding During Adolescence With Yin...
Dysfunctional Uterine BleedingThe purpose of this study is to conduct a randomized, single blind, controlled intervention trial to observe the therapeutic effect of kidney-tonifying and tune up Chong-Ren hemostasis Chinese medicine periodic therapy for dysfunctional uterine bleeding based on objective Chinese and western medicine evaluation standard.

Control of Bleeding on Nexplanon in Latinx Patients
ContraceptionIn this study, researchers want to find out more about how the Etonogestrel (ENG) contraceptive implant device (also known as Nexplanon) changes people's periods. Study subjects will self select into an exposure group- starting combined hormonal contraceptive pills (COC) on the same day as Nexplanon placement or a "delayed initiation" of COC when/if bleeding concerns develop. Patients will be followed for 12 months.

Safety of Anticoagulant Therapy After Endoscopic Treatment
CirrhosisPortal Vein Thrombosis2 moreThe investigators aimed to verify the efficacy and safety of nadroparin calcium warfarin sequential (NWS) anticoagulation therapy after endoscopic therapy in PVT patients with cirrhosis and AVB.

Blood Loss Assessment in the Limited Application of Tourniquet During Primary Unilateral TKA
Arthritis KneeBlood Loss1 moreTourniquet application in total knee arthroplasty has many benefits and might have a role in the incidence of peri-operative complications the aim of this research: is to look into the effectiveness of the limited application of tourniquet during primary unilateral total knee arthroplasty and compare the perioperative complications with the standard full-time application.

Efficacy of Local Infiltration of Tranexamic Acid and Lidocaine in Tonsillar Bed on Postoperative...
Post Operative PainPostoperative HemorrhageAll anesthetic techniques aim to lessen intra-operative surgical site bleeding because it is a major problem and does not help with precision, surgery time, or postoperative wound healing. The main reason for reoperation and mortality in children who have had tonsillectomies is post-tonsillectomy hemorrhage. Pre-emptive analgesia reduces surgical pain blocking of central sensitization by topical or systemic medications.

Continued Development of a Multiplex Precision Medicine System for Early Warning of Progression...
Occult BleedingHemorrhageThis study is Phase 3 of a three-phase DOD CDMRP funded project for the development of a multi-technology poly-anatomic noninvasive system for early detection of occult hemorrhage. Early detection of ongoing hemorrhage (OH) before onset of shock is a universally acknowledged great unmet need, and particularly important after trauma. Delays in the detection of OH are associated with a "failure to rescue" and a dramatic deterioration in prognosis once the onset of clinically frank shock has occurred. An early alert to the presence of OH with an acceptable rate of false-positives and false-negatives would save countless lives. Additionally, such technology would save significant time, money and effort by allowing medical resources to be applied more accurately - the essence of precision medicine. An automated system would monitor currently stable patients continuously, leaving clinicians free to care for patients in need of attention.

Thromboelastography Guided Blood Product Transfusion for Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Cirrhosis...
CirrhosisLiver2 moreThe goal of this clinical trial is to compare resuscitation strategies in patients with cirrhosis and gastrointestinal bleeding. The main question it aims to answer is whether thromboelastography guided resuscitation decreased the amount of fresh frozen plasma patients receive. Patients will receive blood products guided by thromboelastography in the intervention group. Researchers will compare the patients who undergo thromboelastography guided resuscitation to those who receive usual care to see which strategy leads to the use of less blood products, specifically less fresh frozen plasma.

Efficacy of Compression Sutures in Controlling Excessive Uterine Bleeding During Caesarean Section...
Bleeding in Cesarean SectionThe investigators found that B- Lynch suture is more effective than Nausicca suture in controlling excessive uterine bleeding during cesarean section and avoiding the need of hysterectomy. Also, the investigators found that B- lynch suture needs shorter procedure time with less blood loss compared to Nausicca suture. Consequently the investigators recommend the use of B-Lynch suture as a compressive uterine suture to control excessive uterine bleeding during cesarean section and avoid the need of hysterectomy. As a result of this study the investigators recommend further studies to compare different uterine compressive suture to verify the most effective uterine compressive suture.

Summative Usability Study of CEREBO® - a Non Invasive Intracranial Hemorrhage Detector
UsabilityTraumatic brain injury is one of the most common reasons for visits to the Emergency Department. More than 90% of patients who have suffered from head trauma present with a mild traumatic brain injury. Most of these patients do not present any symptom at the time of diagnosis thus delaying the detection. CEREBO®, a non-invasive, portable, rapid, point-of-care intracranial haemorrhage detector can avoid delayed detection by decreasing the time from injury to the initial CT scan. The study aims at assessing the summative usability of the device by determining its ease of use, ease of learning and satisfaction among the medical health professionals. The participants will be trained before the study and will be assessed periodically. Each participant will use the device on at least 10 subjects.

A Low ChloridE hyperTonic Solution for Brain Edema
Subarachnoid HemorrhageAcute Kidney InjuryThis pilot study will compare the two hypertonic solutions currently used for subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) - related complications and to determine if the reduction of chloride load is safer, and as efficacious as the classic hypertonic solution.
