MAC Project, Monitoring of AntiCoagulant Therapies (MAC)

Anticoagulants and Bleeding Disorders

MAC Project is a prospective cohort, multicenter, observational, no-profit study aimed to prospectively collect reliable real-life clinical information in unselected VTE or NVAF patients treated with any DOAC, during a medium-long term follow-up period.

Effect of Hypocalcemia on the Outcome of Elderly Major Trauma Patients With Trauma-induced Coagulopathy...

CoagulopathyTrauma

Hypocalcaemia is an independent risk factor of TIC in elderly trauma patients. TIC combined with hypocalcemia had worse coagulation function and more serious acidosis.

Hemostasis Assesment After Application of Lyophilisate Collagen in Nail Surgery

NailsIngrown1 more

The objective of this study is to evaluate the hemostatic capacity of two types of collagen hemostatic sponges in nail surgery. It is a randomized triple-blind clinical trial with two experimental groups (medium porosity collagen and high porosity collagen) and control group ( non collagen).

World Bleeding Disorders Registry

Hemophilia AHemophilia B1 more

The WBDR is an international observational disease registry of patients with hemophilia. It will provide a platform for a network of hemophilia treatment centres (HTCs) around the world to collect uniform and standardized patient data and guide clinical practice. With informed consent from the patient, the WBDR stores anonymous data about the person's disease, such as hemophilia type and severity, symptoms, and treatment.

COAgulation Disorders in Ischaemic and Haemorrhagic Stroke

Ischemic StrokeHaemorrhagic Stroke1 more

In this study the investigators will assess both procoagulant and anticoagulant pathways using thrombin generation and platelet function tests in all patients presenting with ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke (including aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorraghe). Also the cross-talk between inflammation and thrombosis, so-called thrombo-inflammation is further investigated. As such the investigators aim to characterise the patient's coagulation profile before administration of any treatment. By assessing these pathways the investigators strive to detect specific markers to predict vital and functional outcome at 3 months in these patients. Finally the investigators may provide new pathophysiological insights in the course of disease following these events that can possibly improve future therapeutic strategies.

Bleeding of Unknown Cause: a Swiss Case-control Study

Bleeding Disorder

The goal of this prospective cohort is to identified specific biological patterns in patients with a bleeding of unknown cause and to study the specific mechanisms of the bleeding disorder for each subset of patients.

Anticoagulants and Bleeding DisordersTissue Adhesion1 more

This study aimed to clarify the safety of anticoagulant therapy after glue injection for cirrhotic variceal bleeding patients with portal vein thrombosis.

Dynamics of Platelet Activation in Patients With Ventricular Assist Device (VAD)

ThrombosisBlood Coagulation Disorder3 more

Consenting patients with end-stage heart failure that are implanted with/candidates for implant of a short-term/durable mechanical circulatory support device (e.g.: percutaneous microaxial pumps (Impella), extracorporeal membrane oxygenator (ECMO), Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) will be enrolled in the study. Aim of the study is to evaluate the patients' haemostatic and coagulation profile, how it interacts with the support device as well as the effect of antithrombotic drugs. From these data, it will be possible to derive the mechanisms triggering post-implant thromboembolic/hemorrhagic complications and to identify potential therapeutic targets.

Storytelling for Reducing Gap in Anticoagulation Use in African Americans With Atrial Fibrillation...

Atrial FibrillationAtrial Flutter6 more

The overall goal of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a previously developed storytelling intervention on anticoagulation (AC) initiation/persistence in African American and Black patients with atrial fibrillation/flutter. The investigators hope to gain knowledge that may help treat atrial fibrillation or flutter and lower stroke and adverse cardiovascular event risks for African American and Black patients by increasing the use of blood thinning medications known as anticoagulants.
