Immunogenicity Study of Antibody Persistence and Booster Effect of DTaP-HB PRP~T Combined Vaccine...

DiphtheriaTetanus3 more

DTaP-HB-PRP~T combined vaccine is being developed in order to comply with expanding programs for immunization in infancy, while offering the benefit of a reduced number of injections, and potentially of an increased acceptance. Primary Objectives: To describe the antibody persistence at 12 to 18 months following a three-dose primary series vaccination of either DTaP-HB-PRP~T or Tritanrix-Hep B/Hib™ given at 6, 10 and 14 weeks of age, and one dose of Hepatitis B (Hep B) vaccine given at birth. To describe the effect of a booster dose of DTaP-HB-PRP~T on immunogenicity at 12 to 18 months following a three-dose primary series vaccination of either DTaP-HB-PRP~T or Tritanrix HepB/Hib™ given at 6, 10 and 14 weeks of age, and one dose of Hep B vaccine given at birth. Secondary Objective: To describe the safety profile of the booster dose of the DTaP-HB-PRP~T vaccine when administered concomitantly with Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV).

Effectiveness of Hepatitis A Virus Vaccination Among Homosexual Males at Risk for Hepatitis A Infection...

Hepatitis

Male homosexuals are at risk for hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection, and HAV vaccination has been recommended to prevent HAV infection in male homosexuals. HIV infection may impair serological responses to HAV vaccination in HIV-infected patients. The investigators hypothesize that 3 doses of HAV vaccine will improve serological responses to HAV vaccine in HIV-infected patients.

Long-term Persistence Study in Healthy Adults Previously Vaccinated With Twinrix Adult

Hepatitis AHepatitis B

This study will evaluate the persistence of the immune response to HAV (hepatitis A virus) antigens and HBs (hepatitis B surface) antigens in healthy adults previously vaccinated with Twinrix Adult in the primary study, HAB-032 (208127/022). The subjects will be invited for blood sampling 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 years after the primary vaccination to evaluate the antibody persistence. For subjects in whom low circulating antibodies are detected, the presence of immune memory against hepatitis A & B antigens will be investigated by the administration of a challenge dose of the appropriate vaccine (Havrix and/or Engerix-B) at the next planned visit. No new subjects will be recruited during this study.

A Study of BMS-824393 in Combination With Peginterferon Alfa-2a (Pegasys) and Ribavirin (Copegus)...

Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Genotype 1

Based on 12-week on-treatment data, at least 1 dose of BMS-824393 can be identified which is safe, well tolerated, and has sufficient antiviral activity to progress to late stage clinical trials when combined with pegIFNα/RBV for treatment of chronically infected hepatitis C virus genotype 1 treatment-naive subjects.

Effects of Sho-saiko-to, a Herbal Formula, in Reducing Viral Load in Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C Virus

The purpose of this study is to (1) determine the effects of the herbal formula Sho-saiko-to (SST) compared to placebo in treating hepatitis C virus (HCV) in persons who have not responded to the current conventional therapy (peginterferon alfa and ribavirin) or who have relapsed or in those for whom conventional therapy is contraindicated; (2) determine the influence that SST will have on participant reports of depression/sadness, fear and uncertainty related to the HCV disease progression, and renewal of hope in these individuals; and (3) collect preliminary data needed to examine feasibility, patient acceptance, and any potential limitations of the study.
