Prospective Cohort Study on Prognosis of Patients With Hepatitis B/C

Hepatitis BHepatitis C

Hepatitis B (HBV) and hepatitis C (HCV) are prevalent all over the world, which seriously threatens public health. In 2016, the World Health Organization(WHO) put forward the goal of eliminating the threat of viral hepatitis to public health by 2030. However, at present, the diagnosis rate and treatment rate of chronic HBV and HCV in China are still far from the goal put forward by WHO. Therefore, for China, the elimination of viral hepatitis is still a public health problem that needs a long time to face. This study aims to screen and follow up HBV and HCV patients in Danzhou City, Hainan Province, so as to understand the epidemiological characteristics and long-term prognosis of HBV/HCV patients.

Predictive Value of HBV pgRNA on Long-term Outcomes in Hepatitis B Patients Treated With Antiviral...

HBVHCC

The goal of this prospective, exploratory, non-intervention, multi-center, real-world study is to investigate the predictive value of HBV pgRNA in the occurrence of long-term outcomes under antiviral therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis B. Participants will take the necessary clinical examination and blood draw during the patient's treatment and follow-up, and all the treatment is determined by clinicians.

Health and Migration Trajectories of Housekeepers in Bamako

HIV InfectionsHepatitis B4 more

In Mali, migration from rural zones is a cultural phenomenon existing since 1970. During the dry season (9 months), an important number of young women leave their villages and migrate towards urban zones to seek for a job. In Bamako, the estimated number of housekeepers is 100 000 coming from rural regions and aged between 11 and 19 years. The current healthcare offer seems to be non-adapted to their particularities. This is a community-based research constructed on the basis of the activities of two NGOs in Mali: ADDAD (association for the defense of the rights of Housekeepers and domestic helpers ) and ARCAD Santé PLUS (the main NGO for healthcare access for HIV, hepatitis, and sexual health services). The research is conducted by the SanteRCom team in the UMR1252 SESSTIM research unit. The main objective of this observational study is to study the knowledge, beliefs, behaviors and practices in terms of health in general, and sexual health in particular; and to assess the acceptability of an offer of community-based prevention and health services provided by ARCAD Santé PLUS integrated in the activities of ADDAD. The integrating of community-based healthcare offer in a familiar and reassuring framework, such as that of ADDAD, should promote access to health services among housekeepers. The research is organized in 3 stages: Preliminary qualitative survey based on focus group discussions. Allowing the identification of the housekeepers' needs in terms of prevention and healthcare services; and the behavioral particularities of the housekeepers community. It is planned to conduct 7 focus groups including between 42 and 56 housekeepers. Communication and awareness campaigns in the regions of origin of housekeepers. Campaigns will be constructed on the basis of the results obtained from the preliminary qualitative survey. Communication and awareness campaigns in Bamako; community-based activities for housekeepers will be organized 3 times per week during 5 months by the NGO ADDAD. Activities will include the community-based offer of prevention and healthcare services provided by the NGO ARCAD Santé PLUS, i.e. the novelty in the ADDAD's activities. A quantitative and qualitative surveys will be conducted over 5 months with participants recruited during the community-based activities. It is expected to enroll at least 1134 housekeepers, and to conduct a maximum of 25 individual interviews with selected housekeepers.

HepeX-B in Post Hepatic Allografts for Treatment of End Stage Liver Disease Due to Hepatitis B Infection...

Hepatitis BLiver Transplantation

The purpose of this study is to compare the use of HepeX-B versus HBIg, two anti-viral drugs, in patients who have received liver transplants due to liver failure caused by Hepatitis B infection. Patients will be evaluated over a 6 month to 1.5 year period to evaluate whether or not the drugs prevent the Hepatitis B virus from infecting the new liver.

A Novel Biomarker for Response and Prognosis of HBV-related Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular CarcinomaHepatitis b Virus2 more

The investigators will first use our previously collected serum samples and surgical/biopsied tissues from HBV-related HCC patients undergoing radiotherapy. The consistency of junctional clones by Capture NGS needs to be tested between both pre- and post-RT serums, and serial changes in copy numbers of vh-DNA by ddPCR are quantified in the representative cases. The same junction clones from pre-post-RT serums and surgical tissues will be confirmed and the copy number changes of vh-DNA be correlated with RT response and disease-control status. The investigators plan to identify HBV integrations by Capture NGS and quantify the specific vh-DNA by ddPCR as personalized biomarkers from the same-patient serum samples. The investigators will further correlate clinical response and recurrence/metastasis with serial changes of vh-DNA copy numbers. The investigators have been prospectively collecting plasma samples from HBV-related HCC patients before/after RT, at 1, 4, 7 months, and at recurrence/metastasis. The investigators plan to confirm the viable role of pre-/post-RT changes of plasma vh-DNA copies of the same junction clone in post-RT response and prognosis. Moreover, The investigators will explore the recurrent/metastatic tumors arising from the original or a de novo one by identifying their clonality with HBV integration patterns. The true value of this novel HBV chimera vh-DNA will be revealed. The results will also support the consolidative use of personalized vh-DNA for earlier evaluating treatment response after RT, for post-RT disease monitoring, and for differentiating clonality at recurrence to design future clinical trial on combinational treatment.
