Safety and Antiviral Activity of Clevudine in Patients Infected With Hepatitis B Virus
Hepatitis BThe purpose of this study is to determine the antiviral effects and safety of clevudine 30 mg once a day (QD) and 50 mg QD in patients infected with hepatitis B virus (HBV).

Lamivudine and Therapeutic Vaccine Evaluation in Senegalese Patients With Chronic Hepatitis B Infection...
Hepatitis BChronic hepatitis B infection is a major public health issue in Senegal. The study will compare the efficacy of the treatment strategy combining Lamivudine and therapeutic vaccine (12 intra-muscular injections over a 6-month period) to a treatment with Lamivudine alone on the control of viral replication in patients with a replicative hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and an increase in hepatic enzymes.
Telbivudine Versus Lamivudine for Maintenance Therapy of Patients With Chronic Hepatitis B and Negative...
HepatitisChronicThe aim of this randomized clinical study is to show non-inferiority of a change of anti-viral therapy from telbivudine to lamivudine in patients who have achieved an undetectable viral load at week 24 of telbivudine therapy compared to continuous treatment with telbivudine with respect to the viral breakthrough rate at week 108 as the primary clinical outcome.
Response to Hepatitis B Vaccine in Celiac Disease Patients
Celiac DiseaseCeliac disease and infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) are very prevalent worldwide and carry a high morbidity rate. It has been recently shown that patients with celiac disease very often fail to develop immunity after standard vaccination for HBV during infancy. In this study, we will evaluate whether a second vaccination series via a different route of administration (into the skin rather than the muscle) results in a better immunological response in celiac patients. Eligible patients will be randomized to receive a 3-dose vaccination series into the skin or to the muscle. Rate of responders and level of immunity will be compared. This study will facilitate better protection of celiac patients to this potentially deadly virus.
The Relationship Between Long-term Oral Anti Hepatitis B Nucleoside Analogs and Hepatic Steatosis...
Hepatic SteatosisThis study aims to investigate whether long-term use of nucleotide analogues could promote hepatic steatosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B. The degree of hepatic steatosis was observed after 3 years of antiviral treatment with nucleoside (acid) analogues for the first time to determine whether the long-term use of anti hepatitis B nucleoside (acid) analogues could promote hepatic steatosis. To explore the anti hepatitis B nucleotide analogues that can promote liver steatosis, so as to provide evidence-based medical evidence for the selection or adjustment of anti hepatitis B virus drugs in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Efficacy of Tenofovir Disoproxil on Mother-to-child Transmission of HBV in Tokombéré, Cameroon in...
Hepatitis B Virus - Chronic ActiveIIn this study, pregnant women with HBeAg-positive viral hepatitis b or high viral load will receive Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate from the 28th week of amenorrhoea until 6 weeks after delivery. Their newborns will receive the hepatitis B vaccine, starting with one dose at birth and followed by three booster doses, according to the Expanded Programme on Immunisation. The investigators hypothesise that a short course of TDF could greatly reduce the risk of HBV MTCT in pregnant women at high risk of MTCT (HBeAg positive or with high viral load).

Tenofovir Alafenamide Switch Therapy in Chronic Hepatitis B
Patient SatisfactionDrug Adherence3 moreChronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients may be unsatisfied to entecavir (ETV) therapy due to the inconvenience in drug taking, i.e., fasting for more than 2 hours and/or dose adjustment according to estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). However, tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) has been approved to be highly effective and safe in patients with CHB, and is convenient in drug taking, i.e., once daily regardless food taking and renal function. Therefore,TAF can be a good option in CHB patients who are unsatisfied to ETV therapy. The aim of this prospective cohort study is to assess the improvement on satisfaction (including drug adherence) of TAF switch therapy in CHB patients who are unsatisfied to ETV therapy. In addition, with expected adherence improvement in TAF switch therapy, the efficacy of TAF switch therapy may be improved, and the efficacy benefits can be evaluated by the changes of some novel biomarkers, such as HBV core-related antigen (HBcrAg). The investigators therefore aim to conduct a prospective cohort study of TAF switch therapy for CHB patients who are unsatisfied to ETV therapy.
Dynamic Changes of Serum HBV RNA in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients
Chronic Hepatitis B PatientsSome patients with low-level viremia (LLV) are also likely to develop hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or other liver diseases. The relationship between HBV RNA levels and fibrosis in patients with HBV DNA negative or LLV is still lacking evidence. The purpose of this study is to observe the differences in HBV RNA levels and their association with efficacy in HBV DNA negative or LLV patients. Investigators conduct the prospective, single-center, non-randomized, observational clinical study. A total of 100 chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients who receive antiviral therapy with nucleoside (acid) analogues for 1-3 years will be enrolled. The enrolled patients will be followed up five times to collect clinical data and record adverse events (at baseline, week 12, week 24, week 36 and week 48, respectively).
