A Phase I/II Clinical Trial With Interferon Alfa 5 in Treatment-Experienced Patients With Genotype-1...
Chronic Hepatitis C Virus InfectionGenotype 12 moreThe general aim of this study is to determine if 3 MIU of IFN-α5 in monotherapy, and 1,5 MIU of IFN-α5 combined with 1,5 MIU of IFN- α2b, are safe dose levels as well as to investigate the antiviral efficacy and pharmacodynamics (PD) of such doses and drugs in treatment-experienced HCV patients with genotype 1 chronic infection, after 29 days of treatment. It is also intended to determine pharmacokinetics (PK) of the safe dose achieved of IFN-α5 in monotherapy.
Efficacy and Safety of Ypeginterferon Alfa-2b in Chronic Hepatitis C
Chronic Hepatitis CThis study is a multi-center, randomized, open-label and positive controlled Phase II Clinical trial to assess the efficacy and safety of Ypeginterferon alfa-2b (with Ribavirin), once a week, in 3 dose-groups respectively, for treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C patients, with Pegasys 180mcg/week & Ribavirin as positive control. It is aimed to establish a dose response and safety relationship sufficient to allow the subsequent design and conduct of Phase III trials, and generate the PK data in hepatitis C patients to satisfy regulatory requirements.
Safety and Immunogenicity of a Naked DNA-based Vaccine Therapy in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis...
Chronic Hepatitis BThe purpose of this study was to investigate whether HBV-DNA vaccination is safe and could restore immune responses in patients with chronic hepatitis B non responder to available therapies.
Continue Entecavir Rollover From China
Chronic Hepatitis B VirusThe purpose of the study is to determine if treatment with entecavir is safe and well tolerated in patients who completed dosing in a previous entecavir study in China, but are requiring further treatment of their chronic hepatitis B virus infection.
Safety, Metabolism, and Antioxidant Activity of Silymarin and Green Tea Extract in Patients With...
Chronic Hepatitis COxidative StressThe purpose of this study is to determine if the safety, metabolism, and antioxidant activity of silymarin and green tea extract are changed when they are given in combination to patients with chronic hepatitis C infection.
A Study in Japan of the Safety and Antiviral Activity With Chronic Hepatitis B Infection
Chronic Hepatitis BThe objectives of this study are to demonstrate that entecavir has antiviral activity with undetectable at Week 48, and to assess the safety and the pharmacokinetic in Japanese patients given entecavir at each dose of 0.1 and 0.5 mg for 52 weeks
Efficacy of Nitazoxanide in the Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)
Chronic Hepatitis cChronic hepatitis C has become an endemic disease in Egypt with a rising prevalence (genotype 4), worldwide it also poses a significant health burden. To date standard of care treatment (pegylated interferon and ribavirin) give modest results with a sustained virological response (SVR) of about 50%. Several pharmaceutical and herbal agents have been used with an aim to improve current results. Recent reports have suggested an increased SVR with the addition of Nitazoxanide to standard of care. The results are preliminary and need to be confirmed. This is a randomized trial to assess the efficacy of nitazoxanide added to standard of care compared to standard of care alone.
Pegylated Interferon Plus Ribavirin in Treating Older Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C
Chronic Hepatitis CCombination therapy with pegylated interferon-alpha plus ribavirin has greatly improved the treatment efficacy and is the mainstream of treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection. The efficacy and safety of pegylated interferon-alpha plus ribavirin combination therapy and its impact on the outcome in older patients with chronic hepatitis C deserve to be elucidated. The purposes of this study are: To evaluate the efficacy of pegylated interferon-alpha 2a plus ribavirin combination therapy in older patients with chronic hepatitis C To investigate the safety of pegylated interferon-alpha 2a plus ribavirin combination therapy in older patients with chronic hepatitis C
