Adolescents' Response to Hepatitis B Vaccine Booster Dose
Hepatitis BThe aims of this study are to determine: the degree of immunity against hepatitis B, factors associated with immunity against hepatitis B, if the amount of antigen provided in a booster dose (used to measure the degree of immune memory) affects the body's response to the booster, and if the age at which the vaccination was initiated during infancy affects duration of protection against hepatitis B among adolescents 16-19 years of age born in the United States who were immunized against hepatitis B as infants. These data will be important to evaluate the potential need for a possible booster dose of hepatitis B vaccine among adolescents. Study subjects eligible for enrollment will: have blood drawn for baseline serologies receive the hepatitis B booster dose (randomly determined to be either a 10 ug or 20 ug dose) have blood drawn again 14 days later to determine if the booster dose has engendered an anamnestic response (a response attributed to prior immunity rather than a new response to the vaccine) The primary hypothesis is that the majority of young people will exhibit immune memory for hepatitis B in response to a booster dose of vaccine.
An Observational Study on Predictive Factors of Response in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C Treated...
Hepatitis CChronicThis observational study will evaluate predictors of early on-treatment response and sustained virological response in patients with chronic hepatitis C receiving Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) and ribavirin. Data will be collected from patients on treatment (24 or 48 weeks) and 24 weeks after the end of treatment.
Association Between Hepatitis C Infection and Renal Cell Carcinoma
Hepatitis CRenal Cell Carcinoma1 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine if there is an association between hepatitis C infection and kidney cancer. All patients who are diagnosed with kidney cancer and who will either have a biopsy or surgery will be offered to be tested for hepatitis C. The control group will be colon cancer patients. Both groups would be of recent diagnosis (6 months).
PROPHESYS 3: Observational Study on Predictors of Response in Patients With Treatment-naïve Chronic...
Hepatitis CChronicThis observational study will assess predictors of early on-treatment and sustained virological response in treatment-naïve patients with chronic hepatitis C initiated on treatment with Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) or peginterferon alfa-2b and ribavirin. Data will be collected during the treatment period (24 or 48 weeks) and 12 and 24 weeks after the end of treatment. Target sample size is <2000.
Lamivudine(LAM) Good Responder Study
Hepatitis BChronicThis is to evaluate the proportion of subjects who show good responses to LAM treatment in Korea.
Antibody Persistence in Healthy Children After Primary and Booster DTaP-IPV-Hep B-PRP-T Vaccine...
DiphtheriaTetanus3 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the long term immunogenicity produced in children by the investigational hexavalent vaccine (DTaP-IPV-Hep B-PRP-T) given in Study A3L15 (NCT 00362336). Primary Objective: To describe the antibody long term persistence at 3.5 and 4.5 years of age following a 3 dose primary series vaccination of either DTaP-IPV-Hep B-PRP-T or CombAct-Hib™ + Oral poliovirus vaccine (OPV) + Engerix™ B vaccination at 6, 10 and 14 weeks of age and a booster vaccination of DTaP-IPV-Hep B-PRP-T or CombAct-Hib™ + OPV at 15-18 months
Evaluation of Rapid Virologic Response Among HCV Patients Treated With PegIntron and Rebetol in...
Hepatitis CChronic1 moreThe objective of the study is to evaluate, in each group, the number of participants who achieve rapid virological response (RVR) after 4 weeks treatment with PegIntron and Rebetol. The study will also assess whether RVR is a reliable predictor of sustained virologic response (defined as undetectable viral load at 24 weeks post-treatment).
Impact of Patient Support by the Medical Staff on Adherence to Therapy With PegIntron Plus Rebetol...
Hepatitis CChronic Hepatitis CThe objective of this study is to assess the impact of participant care and support on treatment adherence. PegIntron pen and Rebetol will be administered to participants with Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) in accordance with approved labeling. Sites will be categorized as providing high vs low level of participant management based on information about the level of participant support and management captured on the site questionnaire. Data on each participant will be collected by a physician on an electronic participant case report form (CRF) and by the participant via a questionnaire. Treatment completion rates will be analyzed based on the high vs low level of participant management. The hypothesis is that Physicians investing more time and effort into participant management achieve higher treatment completion rates among their hepatitis C patients than physicians offering less participant management measures.
A Quality of Life Study of Peginterferon-Alfa-2a Plus Ribavirin in Participants With Chronic Hepatitis...
Hepatitis CChronicParticipants with Chronic Hepatitis C (CHC) and normal ALT, who have been under treatment with peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin for at least 4 weeks, will be enrolled into this non-interventional, open-label study. The primary aim is to evaluate quality of life according to the 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) questionnaire, modified for the Greek population.
An Observational/Non-interventional, Study of NS3/4a Protease and NS5A Protein of Hepatitis C Virus...
Hepatitis C VirusThe purpose of this study is to describe the genetic diversity of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3/4a protease and NS5A protein of HCV in participants with chronic disease naive-drug or previously failed to double therapy (Peg-interferon and Ribavirin) and to identify the frequency of natural polymorphisms in HCV NS3/4a protease and NS5A protein that are associated with direct-acting antivirals (DAAs)-resistance.
