Despite the elegance of using this patch, recent experience showed several drawbacks both in design and efficacy (3). With the recent development of the Proceed Ventral Patch (PVP), new elements have been introduced to overcome some of these issues. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of clinical placement of the PVP in the intra-abdominal position in the treatment of small ventral hernias.

Comparison of the Sugarbaker and Keyhole Repair for Parastomal Hernia
Parastomal HerniaParastomal hernia (PSH) is difficult to manage, with high rates of post-operative recurrence and complication. Keyhole and Sugarbaker are the most commonly used techniques in the surgical repair of the PSH. However, the efficacy and safety of the two surgical methods have not been adequately compared in the East Asian population. Patients diagnosed with PSH who underwent Sugarbaker or Keyhole repair from August 2012 to August 2022 will be included. Patient demographic data and postoperative outcomes will be retrospectively analyzed. The primary outcome measure is the recurrence rate at one year follow-up time.

M-Tapa vs OSTAP for Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair Surgery
Inguinal HerniaInguinal hernia repair is the most common of abdominal surgical procedures and is usually performed laparoscopically. Many factors play a role in the pain that develops after surgery and is generally considered to be visceral pain. Phrenic nerve irritation due to CO2 insufflation into the peritoneal cavity, abdominal distention, tissue trauma, sociocultural status, and individual factors are the factors that play a role in the occurrence of this pain. Modified Perichondral Approach Thoracoabdominal Nerve (M-TAPA) block performed with ultrasound (US) is a new block that provides effective analgesia in the anterior and lateral thoracoabdominal areas, where local anesthetic is applied only to the lower side of the perichondral surface. M-TAPA block is a good alternative for analgesia of the upper dermatome levels and abdominal lateral wall and may be an opioid-sparing strategy with satisfactory quality recovery in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery. Oblique Subcostal Transversus Abdominis Plane Block (OSTAP) is one of the body blocks used especially for postoperative analgesia. OSTAP, defined by Hebbard in 2010, is a subcostal version of the Transversus abdominis plane block (TAP block), based on the injection of local anesthetic from the lower edge of the costal margin, obliquely between the obliquus externus and Transversus abdominis muscles. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of US-guided M-TAPA block and OSTAP block for postoperative analgesia management after laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair surgery. Our primary aim is to compare postoperative pain scores (0. hour NRS), and our secondary aim is to evaluate the use of rescue analgesics (opioids), side effects associated with opioid use (allergic reaction, nausea, vomiting), and patient satisfaction (Likert scale).

Pain management is especially important for these patients since chronic pain often occurs after surgery. Severe pain may occur at postoperative period in patients following lumbar disc herniation (LDH) operation. Postoperative effective pain treatment provides early mobilization and shorter hospital stay, thus complications due to hospitalization such as infection and thromboembolism may be reduced. Ultrasound-guided quadratus lumborum block (QLB) is a fascial plane block where local anesthetic is injected adjacent to the quadratus lumborum muscle with the goal of anesthetizing the thoracolumbar nerves. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of US-guided QLB for postoperative analgesia management after lumbar disc herniation-laminectomy surgery. The primary aim is to evaluate postoperative pain scores (VAS), the secondary aim is to evaluate use of rescue analgesia and adverse effects (allergic reaction, nausea, vomiting).
